The PS3 takes longer to certify. Maybe they changed him because people confused him for Alistair.

Or didn't confuse him for Alistair.

Honestly, they look the same to me.

It's not the resolution. A different resolution shouldn't change the shape of the nose, the chin, the jaw, the mouth, etc. About the only thing that's the same is his hair.

Look at the second comparison in particular. The top is the PS3, the bottom is the PC. Almost everything in his face is different. In particular his nose and his jaw. It's like he has a different skull.

Why, Bioware!!?

Your right... I see it mainly in his lips. He's got an overbite in the PC pic, obviously something that resolution wouldn't alter, only make less pronounced.

If it was just resolution, I think the difference would feel a little more "There's something wrong and I can't really put my finger on it." When I first saw my boyfriend playing Awakening on PS3 after I had finished it on PC, I said "Whoever that blond guy is, it's not Anders." And it was.

Like I said before, there are several NPC's that are different: Anders, Nathaniel, Sigrun, the Baroness, and some really minor characters. Sometimes it's just facial features, but for some they even have different hair colors and/or styles.

To me it looks as though the PS3 version of Anders the same facial structure as Varel. Definitely looks different from the 'real' Anders, minus the hair and robes.

His face seems more anatomically correct.

Definitely the PC version, I prefer. Looks more unique, more "noble (long face, long, slender aquiline nose, sculpted cheeks, narrow chin). PS3 version looks very generic, annoying.

PC version gives him a face worthy of Duncan's hair and earring. So glad I'm a PC player. :D

I like the way that Anders and Sigrun look on the PS3 more than I do on the PC. Though it does really bother me that Anders face is/is really similar to Varels.

I'd just like to know why theres any difference in the first place. It would be pretty interesting to see what the answer might be.

On the XBox 360, Anders and the others look like in the PS3 Versions. While I kinda like the 360/PS3 Sigrun, I wish Anders looked like on the PC.

On PS3/360 his face just looks like the last human pre-set face.... :(

Anders to me in the PS3 version looks like Matthias and the merchant at Sulcher's Pass.

Honestly, I played the console version first, and switched to PC for better graphics, but the PC version of Anders actually had me regretting my switch a little. He sort of looks malnourished, and I like how much fuller the console version's face is. The resemblance to Alistair isn't really that prominent.

I got the same bug, and I play on the 360. The strange thing is, the first few times I played through on my Xbox, they had the same facial structures as shown in the trailers...

His epic face is too good for crappy PS3 to handle. Kidding. They must have a made a mistake and then another mistake on top of not noticing it during QA.

It's not just PS3 either, I just ordered the Ultimate Edition for Xbox360 via Ebay and am currently playing Awakening. Anders looks completely different and so does Nathaniel. They don't look at all like their characters, more like randomly generated faces...

I play on the PS3, and Witch Hunt is also affected. Both Finn and Anders seem to be modeled after the bald human male preset, I think the change in Finn is most noticeable. If I can, I'll find some pictures for comparison.

Yes, it looks like every Awakening companion has lost their own natural look, even Valenna and Sigrun. I love Awakening, but this is really bothering me...

Personally I prefer PS3 Anders over PC Anders.

Hang on, this is only affecting DLC's? and (many) males?

I think I can guess what happened.

On the PC, if you use certain mods, (eg whiter teeth), they work fine in the OC, but snap back faces in Awakening or DLC to a generic face, with the same hair and colouring - maybe that's it? Something that's changed there?

Good theory and it makes sense, but I don't understand why it would be happening on consoles. Is it a patch, are the DLC characters actually supposed to look that way and PC is different (doubt it)? Or maybe it's BioWare laughing and pointing at console users for kicks?

Here's a picture of Sigrun I managed to take, which in my opinion looks a bit like the female bald dwarf preset. Nathaniel is also there, but from that tiny shot his facial changes may not be that noticable. http://s1035.photobu...t=PS3Sigrun.png

O_O

When I saw Anders for the first time on DA2, I couldn´t believe how different he looks - where did the shallow cheeks, the aquiline nose come from?
Now I know why, but it still doesn´t make any sense... This is a curious phenomenon.
I just can´t fathom why the characters would look different on console.
If they decided to change the facial features after the release of the game, they´d changed it for the PC version too - though that in in itself would be a strange thing to do.
