KotOR2 is a better game than KotOR1 was.
It might've been, had it ever been.. you know, even half completed.
All that was really missing was 10 minutes of the ending from Planescape: Torment.
Also, because they left in the HK-factory in the X-box versions people are asperging all about how it was only half-way completed.
Well, guess what, that's how game design works. **** gets dropped, edited, ending up cut from the game. KotOR1 had more than double the content (than what seemingly was dropped from KotOR2) that was dropped because they had much, much bigger plans, but things don't ALWAYS work according to plan. As a result, Yavin was a tiny space-station with high-level weapons and nothing much plot relevance to itself.
All that Bioware has going better for itself, is that their editors are better at cutting content, hiding it away and preventing the public from ever knowing what was even planned:
Like the super-secret project that Bioware and Lucasarts were cooperating on. But that fell through the crapper.
