Finally, your allies fire the Incisor at the same rate as the viper, but instead of 2-3 bullets coming from the viper, they fire 2-3 incisor bursts at a time.
My video is here:
It was really early so the commentary/quality is not that great, but the gameplay stands on its own.

So Samara would do more damage with Vindicator over Geth Pulse Rifle?
I think so..
Miranda, Mordin - Tempest
Jacob, Jack, Tali - Eviscerator
Grunt, Samara, (maybe Garrus, Zaeed) - Vindicator
Thane, (maybe Garrus, Zaeed) - Viper; though if someone has and wants to take advantage of the enormous damage Incisor does, then just give it to all snipers - Legion, Thane, Garrus, Zaeed
Legion - Widow
just guessing though, I have no exact numbers or anything

also: Whenever I have an NPC with the tempest they just seem to stand in the open emptying the entire clip and die super fast. Does anyone know how/if you can stop this happening? :<

I think squadmates basically hold the fire button down -- if you do this for a while you get a feel for what weapons they'll use well (vindicator) and what weapons they'll be unusually bad with (viper -- mantis seems better on squadmates). This means the DPS charts for weapons at me2 wiki are actually useful for working out squadmate damage.

The Viper and Incisor are both notoriously better for squadmates than Shep, but if you are a non-sniper class Shep who chooses it for advanced weapon training, and you pick up head shot damage upgrade, you can come close.
Who is it with the tempest problem - is it Mordin or Miranda? I've noticed they both go Rambo on me sometimes like that, and even though I always turn squad power use all the way off, I still have to d-pad the heck out of them to get them to take cover or get outta there.

With Garrus, Legion, and Zaeed, I have them take the Collector Rifle, and Samara and Grunt with the Vindicator.
I give Grunt his Claymore.

Viper / Incisor [if available], Widow if Legion
Vindicator (GPR on Legion for RP purposes
Tempest
Evis
I almost never change my squad's weapons, no matter what type of defense I might find myself against. There is only one occasion where I will have them (and by that I mean Grunt only) bust out the shotgun and thats during the end of the IFF mission when all the husks swarm you.

Second, DamageHench=0.6f for the Incisor meaning they have a lower multiplier than for Viper which is .65.
For the Widow and Mantis the Hench multipliers are .57 and .55 respectively.
So per shot your squad is doing 209.93 dmg Widow, 144.70 dmg Mantis, 96.48 dmg Incisor, 53.235 dmg Viper. And when you take into account the Incisor doesn't needed to be reloaded after every shot it becomes clear why the Incisor does so much for your squad.
Also remember this isn't accounting for the bonuses of rapid fire due to its 3 round burst, head shot bonus or the other powers they could have running.
But I could be wrong, parsing ini files only yields so much information.
Edit: Change the pharsing of the statement based on lack of info about RateOfFireAI stat.
So comparing what your AI squadmates can do in 4 shots of the Incisor compared to 4 shot with the Viper we them doing 385.92 dmg the Incisor and, 212.94 dmg with the Viper.

Where do you find the AI rate of fire? What is it for the vindicator/other weapons? Thanks.
In the ini file for the sniper rifle there's a setting for RateOfFireAI it's 1.0f. There doesn't seem to be one for the Vindicator.
Also I'm probably wrong about the AI rate fire there's a lot of info there requires more experience with the file than what I have to make sense of it all.

Or us 360 users just depend on the web for stats;)
Another factor is if that particular character's class is evolved in such a way that they deal more weapon damage - for insatnce if you evolve Garrus' Turian Rebel into Renegade, he deals +25% weapon damage, but if you evolve him as Survivor, he only deals +18% more (but gets a better health bump with the latter).

1) It's better at range
2) I'd be using his pull to pull foes over cover (and fall to their deaths), and with a shotgun he'd hit 'em and knock 'em back. Negating my tactic.
