That could be why Alistair doesn't leave if he's married to the Queen but will with a lover: he doesn't get married/Anora doesn't want to get pregnant (as Loghain tells the prince-consort) but has a child with the Queen and doesn't want to be a horrible father figure unlike some people he could mention...

That makes so much sense it's scary Sarah...stop scaring me! I knew my HNF looked a bit chubby at the end of Origins during the boon conversation. (Seriously...my mage/warden ending didn't have that..bump, why did my HNF?)

Really?  My HNF is skinny as a rail, as usual.  I hate her.  Of course, she runs and fights on a daily basis and her player pushes paper and sits on her a&& in front of a PC screen, so it's really no mystery.  LOL

But Sarah1281's theory was what I was saying earlier.  The only thing that makes sense to reconcile the two epilogues, if we must reconcile them, is that there is an heir.  I'm more inclined to believe Awakening is just sloppy, however.

Yeah, every time I see her side view during the after party while she's standing there choosing her boon she's skinny on the top and...bulging around the belly. It annoys me, unless I convince myself she's preggers...lol. My mage wasn't, and she was human...my city elf was in plate, but with Zev so nothing there. But my HNF rogue in her leather?  Ugh.

She would then hang it in the nursery (if a nursery is needed), so her child will grow up right.

Also, she's drunk.

LOL  Warden Mommie dearest!

Seriously, I might be on to something here.  Queen Cousland could stich embroidery and start her own nursery theme company.  I can see it now...  The best selling line from "Quenn Cousland's Nusery Themes" is "Baby Darkspawn Slaughter", followed closely by "Baby Archdemon Vs. Mabari Hound".  Think of the wittle adowable mabawi hound puppies..and the wittle adoawble dwagon!!

I need help, don't I?

I'm working on a different strategy for my Cousland. I've got Alistair up to adore, haven't done Redcliff yet. I've already had the so you said this Arl Eamon rasied you conversation. My Cousland has no idea that Alistair's King Marics and she won't know until I go and do the sacred ashes quest but the whole Redcliff quest I'm going to leave Alistair at camp. He may not be happy with it but I'm taking this a whole different route then I've usually done it. Alistair doesn't have to be there when Eamon's giving the put Alistair on the Throne speech does he?

Because I can almost see my pc walking back to camp striding angrily towards Alistair, standing in front of him with her hands on her hips, murder in her eye and asking him "Is there something you forgot to tell me?" This out to be interesting lol.

Unfortunately he shows up at the castle even if you don't bring him. And you don't get a really good opportunity to lay into him. I wish you could, though. I've had one character who would have brought the roof down on him for holding that information from her.

As for belly issues at Post-Coronation, I never see it on my HN's who are in their medium armor. Leather armor is almost uniformly unflattering from the side, though. It's like you have a bulky brace on under there.

Dang that blows that out of the water lol.  Welp he's still going to have to come himself because I'd got a plan on how I'm doing this game and I'm sticking to it this time lol, I always end up doing the complete oppisite of what I first start out wanting to do.  I'm still not sure how I'm doing my ending though.  I've never had him unhardened and made king with my Cousland beside him.  I have playing a HNM and he was pist but never a female lol.

Edit:  Me not knowing anything until the last moment should make that You want to put Alistair on the Throne comment more realistic as a surprise lol.

You can still lay into him for making you look stupid for not telling you as you neared Redcliffe, even if e didn't enter the vilage itself. Even if you pretend you knew all along, you'd still FEEL stupid since you're out of the loop.

i did that once. Totally chose every option to make him feel bad, and somehow *I* was the one that felt bad and lost approval...no! No! TESS COUSLAND DISAPPROVES -4 Alistair...NOT YOU!

Well that's not surprising. Your approval bar isn't displayed on the screen and the characters don't like it when you call them on their ****.

I suggest a new option in the game then. The ability to be upset at your companion and make THEM suck up. Why do we always have to be the bigger person...hmmph.

And when you switch to their status in the menu you can have the option of raising/lowering your approval. If it gets too low they offer to leave (unless they think they'll die like Zevran or have a duty as a GW like Alistair) and if you have a lot of approval with them but they don't have much with you, they'll try to rectify the situation by giving you gifts and apologizing.

Or after he yells at you for doing what he suggested.

Alistair: I can't believe you killed Connor!

Warden: It was your idea! (Warden disapproves -10)

Alistair: And why would you make me King? I didn't want to be King.

Warden: What are you talking about? You made yourself King after killing Loghain. (Warden disapproves -10) And did it ever occur to you that maybe I was going for the 'recruit everybody' achievement? Now I'm going to have to start all over... (Warden disapproves -20)

Alistair: ...I feel like I should ask if you want me to leave, but you kind of need my army so...if you'll excuse me I'll be raiding the Chantry's rose bushes.

Bump !
Yup i'd love a dev answer on this one (please David !! :().
My Princess Consort Cousland suddenly becomes Queen (tis good i guess), goes back to the court with Alister's big smile awaiting her ... then disappears alone after few years :( ?
How comes ?

1: Alister, hardened
2: yes
3: yes
4: Alister King, Cousland Queen
5: Hell yes he is Darkpawn.
6: HNF

And off topic :
The sword, why did she leave the sword on the battleground ?
Like Stern said the weapon is part of the body and she would never "forget it" nor dump it.

If Zevran doesn't like you, he'll ask to leave. First time you can convince him to stay.  Second time, you have to let him go or kill him.  Alistair is the only one who will stay no matter how much he hates you!

I played through experimentally, and made Alistair king, and remained his mistress. Anora was out of the picture. Got the epilogue card saying me and Alistair disappeared together.

Seems like my mom was right: best way to ruin a perfectly good love affair is to get married.

I'm beginning to think that the only benefit to being his wife vs. his mistress is that he calls his wife an "indestructible goddess." Image IPB

But, yeah, otherwise the epilogues seem to agree with your mother.

Looks like I'll stick with most of my playthroughs where I don't make him king. Shame he vanishes until epilogue.

I only kinged and married him once in my first playthrough. I prefered the two Wardens running off and living in sin together epilogue. Seems it nets the best potential.
