I'm beginning to think that the only benefit to being his wife vs. his mistress is that he calls his wife an "indestructible goddess." Image IPB

LOL  When is this?!

When you see him in Awakening. If you say "Nothing can take me down. You know that." he says "I married an indestructible goddess. I am such a lucky man" to his wife and "I do know that. It's quite comforting, in fact" to his mistress.

Aha, more testing required, I see. That's cute. It doesn't help that you can't save the game before that dialogue, so I have to fight the Withered every time to see different choices. And of course, right now the PC is kaputt, so experimentation is at a standstill.

You can save the game if you're very quick with the F5/Esc key on the pc and time it just right.

If you're really quick you can get a save in as soon as you kill the Withered and before the cutscene starts. Then you can watch, and re-watch, without having to do the fight.

OK..this clears it up.  I was most DEFINITELY bugged.  At the end of Origins, I was queen.  I got the slide saying all the people loved to see how Alistair adored his new bride and blah blah blah.

But in Awakenings, I got this comment: "I do know that. It's quite comforting, in fact".  Looks like Awakening thought we weren't married :(

Darn you bug!  Now I'm going to have to play ALL over again.  Man, what a hardship Image IPB

BW better use this though.... how frustrating would it be for all of us if we disappear and we never find out where or why we went??  AAGGHHH!!!  Image IPB

That would remind me of the ending of NWN actually  So I'll just take the "I didnt see it"-approach like with the sword. I mean if the crows kill the  "indestructable" queen of Ferelden ok, they can have it. But no one takes her sword while she breaths. It's either in hand, in it's scabbard or under the pillows ^_^

Nope, using the time when her husband isn't looking to sneak into the estates of her subjects, like in the good ol' days

One thing I thought of is that it's also a bit forward for Alistair to call his mistress "my love" in public. I mean, I don't imagine their relationship is a secret, but in front of soldiers and a templar etc... Anora would probably be unamused.

Oh, sorry.  Stupid copyright.  That was "Yeah" by Usher.  Tranlsate into Fereldan as you will!

The thing I like about my warrior queen is that she can hang out in her Sentinel armor when meeting with peeps and look utterly terrifying. I have the feeling discussions are very, very agreeable when she's around.

And no, Alistair is *not* sneaking out to all those taverns by himself.

Yeah, that did surprise me a little but it's also pretty awesome. When I married him to Anora and my PC was his mistress, I fully expected him to be a little more standoffish at the post-coronation. Nope. I tried to feel guilty that my PC was sneaking off with another woman's husband on their wedding day but...it's Anora. To be fair, I haven't done that since.

Ok I've read in the threads that you can tell Aistair you like him for him not his blood. How can I get that conversation?

I believe I saw it in the Romancing Alistair thread but there are 50 pages of posts lol. Or it could of been in another thread, I just don't remember exactly. That's why I was asking on here.

Heh, I did that with my Dalish warden, too, and I have to say I loved his responses.  It does all sort of point you to extramarital bliss, doesn't it?

In the "why did you hide your birthright" dialogue, but I don't know what approval levels affect getting it.  I always seem to get it, so I wasn't aware others didn't.  Then again, the one time I chose it, it seemed to me like I got a negative approval so I haven't used it since.  Others said they didn't get a negative, however, so I'm probably misremembering that.

See I did that last night.  He never went with me to Redcliff, I did the Urn of sacred ashes quest and when Eamon goes down stairs Alistair's standing right there.  I get the what about Alistair and what why didn't you tell me this before conversation choices, which I loved by the way and didn't lose any approval.  When I went back to camp and asked him why he kept his birthright a secret conversation at the end of it all I got 3 choices and 1 of them was I thought I knew who you were but um don't choose that 1.  By the time I got done with the whole conversation I had lost -26 approval with him.  Not good lol

Yes, after further "research" (don't you know!) I figured out that that is a romance starter line, so if the romance is on, you won't see it.  And it's definitely a "plus" approval!

I made a video of the conversation where you can use that line to turn the romance on.  It's rather sweet.

But yes, "I did like you, now I don't even know who you are" prompts a very :crying: response.

Oh, dear. Curse me and my morbid curiosity, but what does he say? I'm too chicken to actually try that line myself.
It's just so mean.

I won't bother reading through all of the posts here but I always thought when it said you disappear that the warden curse finally caught up too you. If the wardens are still keeping all that info a secret then to the public it would appear that one day you just disappeared without any trace. Truth is you either are suffering with the madness in the deep roads or you saved yourself the pain and just jumped off a cliff.

I think you have to see it to get the full kicked-puppy effect, so I made another video.

Thank the Maker for the reload.

Aww, Alistair Image IPB

I take it that ends the romance as well? I've heard there was an option for apologizing to him afterwards. Maybe I'll try and see.

To answer myself; yes, it does, and yes you can. Oddly enough, you'll have to pass a persuade check when asking him to forgive you. When I did, he said he forgave me (while flirting no less), but I got no approval and the romance was still turned off, so I'm not sure if I passed the check or not, or what he says of you do/do not pass it.
