What we need is a more indept story about what the taint really does, how it effects us and the difference between men and women. Especially when it comes to the Calling.
I still haven't counted out Avernus though lol

You mean the mod? I believe Zevring is not yet Awakening compatible, but Charsen is working on that. In Origins, you get no earring in inventory without a mod.Auresta wrote...
Does Zevran's earring disappear too then?

That's weird. I at least got to keep the ring.

Grrr. Wait - so if you're his mistress or didn't make him king, he disappears, too?
If you're his mistress, he disappears with you, even if he's king.

Alistair should actually be going on his Calling before the PC. He has 6 months of taint in him already when we meet him. So if we go before him that doesn't make sense unless it progresses faster in women which I really don't have a clue about.

Meh, if he's just gonna go six months before me, I may as well just go with him.

To correct myself, Zevring mod is Awakening compatible. My mage came over to Awakening and still has her Zevran's Earring equipped. An Alistair's Rose mod would be great, if anyone is so inclined and so talented.TheBlackBaron wrote...

5. tried both ways, so yes & no

Result - epilogue where she & he disappear together (with that weird twist of 'some say they went off to do warden duty or they were seen at court all the time - which seems like the kind of thing people MIGHT know.)

Alistair first. Broke up with him, and romanced Leliana.
2: Went through the dark ritual or not?
Yes.
3: Killed flemeth or not?
Killed.
4: Made who king or queen?
Alistair and me.
5: Killed the Architect or not?
Killed.
6: Which origin?
Human Noble Female
My character specific ending slides in Awakenings were:
"She returned to life at court, resuming her duties as queen of Ferelden and receiving a hero's welcome when she rode back into the capital. King Alistair awaited her at the palace gates, grinning from ear to ear."
"Some years later, the savior of Ferelden vanished entirely. Nobody knows for what purpose she departed, yet neither does anyone think her tale is complete..."

I got this ending too, with my HNF Queen. Unless I read it wrong, I was under the impression that we did all this stuff together, then we disappeared. Which left me thinking, "We're king & queen, why the heck would we just up and leave??"
Now y'all got me thinking I read it wrong, and only I disappeared. Does anyone have the exact text, or a link to the text?
My choices:
1: Romanced whom? Alistair
2: Went through the dark ritual or not? yes
3: Killed flemeth or not? no
4: Made who king or queen? Alistair, with me as queen
5: Killed the Architect or not? No
6: Which origin? HNF

I had my elven mage as the king's lover and I got the ending where she returns to him and later they disappear together with the mentioning that their tale is far from complete.

There is a romance card if you were in a relationship with someone. Kings and Queens get a card that is about them returning to court that doubles as the relationship card. Then they get the same card that PC's with no active romances get: the one about disappearing after a time.
Non-Kings and non-Queens with an active romance get a card about what they did after Awakening that doubles as the romance and disappearance card.
This is purely conjecture, but I don't imagine the circumstances of our disappearance will matter. All PC's will be in the same boat.

I still havent figured out how Dude Warden can marry Anora.
1.Be a male HN.
2. Don't harden Alistair (or spare Loghain).
3. Talk to her before the Landsmeet and suggest that you become her prince-consort. For the love of the Maker, avoid saying that you think Loghain should die.
4. Duel Loghain, and either spare him or have Alistair execute him.
5. Declare that Anora will be Queen and you will rule beside her.

I still havent figured out how Dude Warden can marry Anora.
Step 1: Be a human noble male.
Step 2: Promise to support Anora at the Landsmeet in exchange for marrying her.
Step 3: Make sure Alistair is either not hardened or knows you support Anora.
Step 4: If you must kill Loghain, have Alistair do it.
Step 5: When asked who should rule, say Anora's in charge and you'll rule beside her.

So. Can we get an ordered tally?
Who did the ritual with morrigan out of all of you who disappeared?
1: Romanced whom? Alistair - Not Hardened
2: Went through the dark ritual or not? Yes - Alistair
3: Killed flemeth or not? Yes
4: Made who king or queen? Anora by herself
5: Killed the Architect or not? Yes. Killed the Btrd.
6: Which origin? HNF
Alistair and I disappear together. Our story is not yet finished.
I'll let you know if turns out different for any of my other origins. I never harden Alistair and always make Anora Queen by herself. And I just don't like Zevran. Too slimy.
If one of these questions turn out to have the same answer for most of the players who have their warden disappear, it could mean something.

On one of my run throughs, on a male human noble, who was in a romance with Morrigan, I married Anora. I hadn't planned this - I just got furious with Morrigan for wanting to off the City Elves, & it was the only way to break up with her. (you get an option to say it's just political & stay with her, but that wasn't my purpose.) However, I hated that ending - I felt like Anora's boy toy, with no power, I apparently made no difference at all as 'king aka consort,' so I redid it, stayed with Morrigan, & let unhardened Alistair be king.
To marry Anora, you just can't be the one to kill Loghain. You CAN recruit him & lose Alistair, but it's not necessary. So basically, have Alistair fight him, he does the killing, your hands are clean. If he's hardened, I assume he insists on being king? I've only hardened him on my male city elf rogue, & didn't pay much attention - I wanted him as king because I thought he'd be nice to my people. (I love the City Elves - and he was good to them.)

Alistair - hardened
2: Went through the dark ritual or not?
Yes
3: Killed flemeth or not?
As dead as she can be
4: Made who king or queen?
Made Alistair king
5: Killed the Architect or not?
I spared him
6: Which origin?
Human Female Mage
We disappeared together with Alistair
Now I am working on a HFN origin I try to make completely differenct choices than the ones above , wondering if I get another ending.
BUT I find this disappearance quite intiguing - hopefully we will get an answer in a nice , new DLC or expansion. But if not, it would be great to get some hint about it in the future extra content(s).

This is a little off-topic, but I just started Awakening with a female noble warrior character who romanced Alistair in DA:O and didn't make him king. Is there any explanation in the whole of Awakening as to why Alistair, a non-king Grey Warden, isn't with my PC at Vigil's Keep? Only Anora came with the troops, and for all intents and purposes it seems like Alistair has just disappeared from the face of Thedas. What's up with that?
Didn't the end of DA:O say, if you kept Alistair happy but did not make him King, that he was called away to Weisshaupt or something?

I was thinking it was only King Alistair that gets called to Weisshaupt, but I'm starting to think that it's Alistair who stays in Denerim with the PC. If the PC goes to rebuild the Wardens, Alistair will always travel with her (even if he's king), leaving her side only to plant a memorial for Duncan. Awakening does not account for his whereabouts at all, unless he's king.
Of course, the epilogues for Origins turned out to be utterly meaningless (except for the last few that dealt with the darkspawn).
Ceridraen wrote...
I haven't heard of any HNF who married Alistair (as King) in Origins, who then ended up with the 'they go off together' epilogue in Awakening. Has anyone gotten that? I assumed it was because of his kingly duties - but... the mistress/king gets to go off WITH him, so that blows the whole 'king' reasoning. It makes sense if you're both wardens & Anora is queen, but I don't understand why only the Queen would go off alone.
I posted above- but it seems like the epilogues for Kings/Queens only hold romance info and are supplemented by the default non-romance disappearance card. Mistresses and those with non-King Alistair (and those who romanced Zev/Leliana/Morrigan) get one card that is both romance and disappearance. I don't think it's any deeper than game mechanics and, if Origins is any indication, the only thing that matters is that you disappear. I'm guessing that whether your're alone or not will hinge more on what other characters are in the game rather than what it says in your Awakening ending.
