I'm wondering if the "boon" that you pick at the end of the O has something to do with your fate in A. I can't remember what I picked, but based on my character from a RP standpoint, I probably picked to build the Grey Wardens. That might explain why in A, even though I am Queen, me and Alistair go off together in the end. Maybe??

Hm - I just ran through all my endings to resell & change gear for Awakening - I could be mixing them up.

I set the mages free for my boon - THAT worked well. Apparently, Wynne, the hag, undermined my efforts! I hope our choices have that much impact, but it feels a bit random or confused to me. (very much like the Zevran friend/lover dialogue bug at the end of Origins)

Nothing that happens at the Coronation is saved to the game- it basically triggers the epilogues and that's it. If you mess around with the epilogue save, you can change out equipment and even start or end relationships and that gets carried over, but it doesn't save your boon or any plans you may have made with your companions.

So the boon has no impact on anything? I thought not. That would mean our Origins epilogues have no meaning for the next one? Other than as they might have been altered to reflect the expansion (as in, she leaves for awhile to rebuild the GWs)

I think that taking the boon into consideration would pretty much break their ability to make a coherent story, given how some of them could really change things (like freeing the Circle, or being Chancellor or Teryn/a of Gwaren).

Rampant speculation: The impression I'm getting is that they are trying to streamline it as much as possible so that the only variables are: Who is king/queen, who you're romancing (and even that seems to have been forcibly narrowed by removing Awakening companions from the pool), whether or not the DR occured* and whether the Architect is alive. Everything else will be what BW decides it's going to be.

*And I think this is going to become canon at some point, it's just too big a hook for it not to be.

I don't think so. If there's going to be another expansion or anything else that will continue this warden's story, it will happen after the Awakening.

The streamlining seems likely. I wondered if that explains why there's a 'love' in some of the Awakening companions (and inexplicably, Justice is one of them) - at one point, maybe they *were* intended as romance options. (or maybe it's just a glitch)

I'd still like to know if there's a reason that Queen Cousland goes off alone & Mistress Warden takes the king with her, though. (and warden/warden romances stick together)

If it's not a glitch, perhaps marriage and power just aren't a very good mix for the two.  I like the fact that not every ending in the DA universe is a happy one, so that would actually please me.  Image IPB

I'd rather a non-happy ending be based on my choices, rather than the origin I first picked, though. But I guess being Queen is a choice. This would mean only the HNF would get the sadder ending.

I'll have to apologize, my new endings were due to a mod and I was not aware of that. I just thought is fair to mention it.

Oh! Your hair (ok, avatar hair) is very nice! Very shiny. The one I got is kind of wispy & dull. I want your stylist!

I glitched my hair mod, & managed to have a bunch of choices that are... well, empty skulls. I have serious doubts about my warden now.

That's why I only use this one. Out of 50 hair styles, I would only use/like just a few, so why bother? But we're going off-topic now...

The Queen's hair is of utmost importance, of course, & perhaps ties in to why she runs off without her husband. There! Fixed!

is anyone else up for kidnapping the developers and beating the truth out of them?

Or suppose i could go outside and discover life outside of rpgs....

Hmmm so not a single queen cousland has gotten anything other than vanishing alone huh? I don't remember what boon mine even picked. Even the conversation after the boon isn't saved in the conversation history in the end game save though, so I too doubt that it matters.

I get it now. It's a bad hair day and she gets nuts. A sane one would not run off without Alistair.

Not that I've seen and I don't think the boon has anything to do with this ending.

Lmao I'll probably be shot for saying this but we could assume the reason for the departure is maybe there's a bundle of joy in the oven and the other Wardens want to make sure everything goes smoothly. Keep the expectant mother/Queen out of site until it's over with in case there's complications? Maybe? Lol sorry but I still can't get the baby idea totally out of my head :)

That's odd because this epilogue is in the toolset :
"She returned to life at court, resuming her duties as queen of Ferelden and receiving a hero's welcome when she rode back into the capital. King Alistair awaited her at the palace gates, grinning from ear to ear."

The game is that buggy or was it cut from the game ? O_o

I got both that and where it says she disappears on my HNF in the same playthrough.

That's what I was thinking.Maybe the HNF and Alistair decide to take the child away somewhere safe because it's a child born to two Grey Wardens and people might find out and try to kill it.Not to mention that it would be scandalous among the nobles and Grey Wardens.

Same here, it says the returned to life at court deal first, then tells you she vanished some years later but her tale is far from over.  But if only that part is in the toolset (I've never been able to find that stuff...i fail), maybe the disappearance DOES have something to do with a dialog or choice we made earlier...hmmm wtb answer!

But why would it be scandalous if she's his queen? I mean they are supposed to produce an heir, that's his biggest worry after the landsmeet. I can see concern if they didn't want it poked and prodded and tested as to how on earth they HAD a child but not scandal.
