1: Romanced whom?
2: Went through the dark ritual or not?
3: Killed flemeth or not?
4: Made who king or queen?
5: Killed the Architect or not?
6: Which origin?

1. Alistair (hardened)
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Alistair/HNF
5. Yes
6. HNF

Yes, in my epilogue I too disappeared mysteriously without Alistair several years after returning to court. I wasn't too pleased with that added detail. I just found out by reading this thread that if you're not queen then Alistair leaves with you? What if you made Alistair the sole ruler and were his lover? Does he still leave with you?

I have to say I think Warden Alistair would propose, too. We had this discussion about Zevran, i.e. whether or not there would be a wedding, but that centered a lot around whether either Zevran or your PC would want something Chantry-approved. That's not an issue for Alistair. But, since I haven't done this ending since my very first disaster of a character, I haven't thought about it a lot.

Yea,  Alister is still an Adrastian at heart, he would want ot do the right thing

Warden Alistair would defiantly propose!!! Especially when he sees me flirting with the new Wardens (ie Anders). If he's going to start with his "its him or me" convo, he's going to know "its a ring or Anders"

That's a good point. I guess I just have a hard time imagining being married as Wardens.

I like to think my PC's have broke him of his being a good little Andrastian, what with all the pre-marital tent shenanigans.

Hehe, well I usually play my HN characters as Andrastian, but that did not preclude premarital romps even before Alistair.  He spent his teen and young adult years in a monastery, which is why he remained celibate.  So I still see them as being Andrastian; she just introduces him to the genteel debauchery of noble life.  Preparing him for the throne, don't you know!  All for the kingdom.  Image IPB

I mean, I picture them as king and queen going to the Chantry together in their finery to pray for the dead of the Blight, or when she returns from Amaranthine.  Making their due.  I imagine it would be less a part of daily life if they didn't have a public function, of course.

Alistair is an idoit to beleive in the false god known as the Maker and his burnt wife.

My characters know the universe was created by the omnipotent life form know only as:

"DUNCAN'S BEARD!" que The Omen music

We can have a non-denominational ceremony at Duncan's tomb in Highever!

I just finished the landsmeet, but can't tell if Alistair is hardened or not...ugh. Is there any in your face obvious way to find this out between the landsmeet ending and Redcliffe?

I always took the "phew" conversation as, he's been trying to muster the courage to ask me for a while, but hasn't done so yet. Now, I just beat him to the punch and he is relieved

That's also how I have always interpreted that line.

You could look back at the conversations you've had recently. If you talk to him before the Landsmeet about Anora he says she's just like her father and can't be trusted, if you talk to him at the Landsmeet before making your decision and ask him if he's ready for this he assures you that he is, if he's King post-Landsmeet he'll freak out on you if he's not hardened (well, unless he has you being Queen to ask about but even then he mentions he's fine with being King if he was hardened).

The problem I see with this interpretation is that Alistair knows that with the kingship over his head, he's not free to marry whomever he likes.  When he brings up the future, he says "maybe our future doesn't need to include marriage or children or anything..."

Hmm...well he does have me as queen, I didn't ask him at the landsmeet. So if he mentions he's kind of ok with being king the console didn't work to unharden him. Curses. I don't wanna go that far back, but curiosity will drive me.

So, you can get different endings for Alistair? Heh.. Is this some sort  of bug or is it intentional?

The ending you get in Awakening is determined the moment you import the save. I discovered this when I was messing with the romance flags in the console.

I think the kid thing was why he was so scared to ask, but when I asked him, he saw I was cool with it, so "Phew"

It seems there are only 2 endings - disappearing with him, or without.  The Queens disappear w/o, everyone else with.  I'm not sure how it works if you don't have a relasionship w/ him though.

I don't think there's any deeper meaning in that ending. It could be just an oversight.
Awakening is pretty sloppy when it comes to details.

Really? do tell, in detail...lol I need to redo this noble anyhow, since she did that sacrifice the first time and I hated it. But if him being hardened or not has nothing to do with it, I'll forget trying to go back that far. I tried looking into the toolset but it makes my brain hurt.

I can tell you for certain that the epilogue slide you'll get in Awakening is determined by the flags(the romance flag mostly) in your save. The dialogue during the coronation and the DAO epilogue have no influence whatsoever.

For the endings of Zevran/Leliana/Morrigan all you need is the romance flag to be active during the importation.  I tested with both Morrigan and Leliana. If the approval is 100-love then you'll get their ending.

I'm not sure how exactly it works for Alistair because it's complicated(more flags involved).

If anyone can give me a list of all the possible epilogues I might be able to find what triggers what and whether it is a bug or no.

That just makes zero sense.  I can understand if he is hardened and the solo ruler that he would say no to just up and leaving but for him to do so with his mistress and not his queen makes absolutely no sense.

In which case, the mistresses should have it the worst and Cousland's married to Anora should have it better (they don't).

I still think it's either an error or just half-hearted programming/writing. If the disappearance card was even remotely different from the default romanceless card, I'd be more worried about it. The King or Queen should be notably concerned that their spouse has disappeared. As it is, I'm going assume that those epilogues are just to position everyone in the same place for whatever comes next and will have little to no bearing on circumstance.

I doubt it has much story significance, either, and the discussion probably amuses the devs. As Gaider noted, none of us got a snow globe saying "Alistair doesn't love you anymore" and I doubt our Queen Couslands will get a divorce notice after our triumphant return from Amaranthine, either. :D If you do get one, check the handwriting to see if it's Eamon's. LOL

*shakes fist at Eamon*

Actually, Queens have a few happy years queening it up at court, it seems. That's something, right? At the very least, you'll be able to impress the palace staff with how much more awesome you are than Anora.
