I know the toolset currently can't work with the new items and material types and whatnot from Awakening, but is there any way to give yourself existing Awakening items (Like the Sentinel armor set) at the beginning of the game when you import your character?

I haven't tried but can you not import the Awakenings character ala ME2?

Looks like no. Which is sad, you could do that in ME1 too.

I was about to try the toolset with Awakening... This is the first I have read that the toolset cannot work with the new items and material types... Are you sure?... because the toolset we get to use for Mods is the same toolset that BioWare uses to make DA.

Please elaborate on your attempts to use the toolset with Awakening.

The toolset is a separate installation. It has its own files and until it gets a patch from BioWare, it doesn't know that there are new material types to work with, new models, etc. BioWare simply has an updated version of the toolset.

See for yourself. Open up the toolset and try changing an item to be High Steel or Volcanic Aurum or something.

Ok, so looking to change anything in Awakening right now has to wait for BioWare to update the Toolset, or to make the source files available for Awakening.

Open the designeritems.erf in the toolset, which is located in the expansion direction if you know where that is, and then extract them to your module override folder. I just use the demo module already included with the toolset since it suffices. Rename the files from gxa_whatever to _whatever then reference the new file name _whatever in a script. I have a script called equip that I use to give myself those items. Run the script in game to give yourself the items you want. You can then, if you desire (in theory, I have not tried this) go back into the toolset and open your save game then change the reference name for each item from _whatever back to gxa_whatever and save it. Then you can delete the files you extracted and renamed without your ingame items disappearing. I have successfully imported items with this method.

Where exactly do I need to extract the files? I cant seem to find my module override folder. In my Documents\\\\\\\\bioware\\\\\\\\dragon age\\\\\\\\modules I only have single player folder....

NVM found it. Still cannot see the new items (uti files ) in the toolset. or is this normal?
