So there are a few who are having problem with the installer hanging at regsvr, I have a question for those who are.  Do you have a Nforce network driver and management software?  Do you have Windows Live messenger(or any of the windows live programs) and does it work?
I had this problem and was having issues with Windows Live programs.  I found out that the solution to the Windows Live problem was to remove the network management software(not sure on the exact name but it was part of the driver).  This solved the windows live program issue.  Also I removed the Asus AI suite.  Today I tried the manual regsvr.exe solution and it worked fine.  I feel there is a connection here.
