if you want CC on higher difficulties you have to play an adept. but thats my point, an adept only spams singularity becasue theres no reason to use anything else, becuase everything else is worse then singularity.

I just finished my Adept Insanity run and disagree. For about 3/4 of the game I just spammed Singularity and Warp (usually Warp with Miranda or Thane), but towards the end I started experimenting more, and recognizing situations where Pull is superior to Singularity due to its faster cooldown. There are also situations where Throw is superior, such as when you can score a one hit kill with it and immediately move on to the next opponent.

Of course you can finish the game doing anything - you could just take Reave and spam that the entire game. The point is that for optimal play there are a number of situations where Singularity isn't the best option.

While I agree, I am not sure the difference is large enough to invest points into pull. I always do, but it is not that great.  Throw, I'll give you 3 second cool down is a lot quicker than the 6 of warp, but warp is more assured you will at least rock them.  Throw if the arc isn't perfect means a wasted shot as the taget bounces off a crate for next to nothing damage.

That's a good point. I was just pointing out that for optimal play there are times when other powers come into play. To be fair my personal play is anything but optimal - I like maxing out Dominate, for example. It think it's much more about having fun.

every ability can be considered situational. you sortof use abilities like you use weapons. but we can all agree singularity is the best biotic power. as much as i liked using throw with my sentinel, i probably used warp twice as much. so maybe warp might actually be the best biotic power.

i wish i could kill samara to unlock dominate. i cant figure out how to do it. i think i had the option the first time i played, but i havent had it since.

You have to have enough Paragon or Renegade to convince Morinth to join you on Samara's loyalty mission. After you get Morinth you'll finish the mission by killing Samara.
I hate Morinth though, so i decided just to do without dominate. *sigh*

Just save before choosing Morinth. Can reload and go back to Samara, the bonus power stays. Dominate is totally worth it for the fun effect because at higher ranks (2+) it makes the controlled organic a walking time bomb you can detonate with Warp. Well, it's fun for me.

I agree with everything you mentioned - my Adept Insanity run was just like that. Singularity does have a weakness at times yes, in groups even if you take down someone's shields/barriers (which sends them flying), another enemy nearby with defenses will still cut the singularity time short and ruin your warp combo setup.

During such times pull becomes clearly superior. Funny thing is, sometimes you don't even need to warp them after pull. Problem is, pull sometimes causes glitches, such as this: Hahaha!

LOL, the funniest for me is dominating a heavy right next to another heavy and watch them rocket themselves to death at close range. Heh

ive tried killing samara about 10 times. ive taken the subclass that boosts paragon score, and i have almost 4 bars of paragon. i get through the paragon chekcs untill the last one every time. still cant kill samara. ive done alot of searching and i guess i need to do that mission ASAP for some reason. i also tried doing alot of sidequests to boost my paragon score, but after spending a few hours doing those, my paragon score shrunk to under 2 bars. i dont know what the hell that was all about. now im starting all over just to unlock dominate. i want to unlock dominate so i can put it on my first engineer. its kindof making me frustrated. you guys know any advice?????

Eh, are you on PC? You can just edit your engineer to have it.

Why is your paragon score shrinking?

i have no idea! it may or may not have been because i switched my subclass from 70 to 100 paragon score bonus. my renegade scare didnt change at all tho i noticed so i dont know what the heck was going on. it pissed me off because i played like 18 hours of a game to get dominate, and it didnt work. i started with 4 bars, it didnt get me morinth so i did N7 missions and a few hours later my paragon score was cut in half even tho my renegade score stayed the same.

sucks. i need dominate. i cant and wont play an engineer untill i get dominate.

With my Adept there is nothing like wide Singularity to mop up and crowd control husks, Most people ignore Warp but heavy warp can bring down the nastiest foe, and nothing is more precious than Cyro Ammo Freeze then a heavy warp to shatter them.

Pull and singulartity are great when used with unstable wrap. Those explosions are extremely entertaining

if you are an adept... then energy drain is a good option. As an adept you have enough biotic powers but energy drain can take care of shields (something biotics are not good at) and it boosts your barrier 120-210 (depending on your level) for 15-20 seconds.

Arc projector is the way to to strip shields as an adept.
Reave is redunant,Slam is crap(no area version),dominate really helps when fighting large group of enemies.

Having to rely on a heavy weapon to deal with any and all shields is in no way advisable imo. Theres plenty of places where you wont be finding heavy ammo , but still people with shields. Personally, id just rely on squadmates to deal with shields tho.. All it takes is 1 guy with overload, and you can strip 80% of all the shields you encounter in 1 shot
