I'd read about a supposed bug with Oghren's approval in Awakening - the gist of it being that, if you'd given him gifts in Origins and then imported that save, he'll be already subject to diminishing returns for his gifts in Awakening.

Can anyone say whether they've seen this, or whether it's not the case?

I have seen this, and it keeps happening to all my import characters. It is pissing me off and I have to use all the "left over" gifts from Origins just to get him to 80 for the quest.

Balls. Well, that kicks my wanting to finish up my new Origins playthroughs and import into Awakening any time soon.

Are there any console commands for Approval?

I got it too but since I have only tried with my Cousland girl to do any playing in game all my gifts to Oghren are at +6 but he starts at 0 neutral. I managed to get him to about 60 once...just gave up after that.

No idea. 360 here.

Actually, come to think of it: is this hitting everyone, or only PC users?

Any 360 gamers who have had this problem?

For me, Oghren's gifts started off at +6 but they also stayed there instead of the diminishing returns the other companion's gifts got.

I'm not getting that (pc) but I DO get approval points from him even when he's not in the party. And he's never in the party.

That's the bug, I think. PC or 360?

I've had that happen with several party members, regarding mostly the Blight Orphans quests. I received approval/disapproval from party members whether they were in my party or not.

360.

Anders and Velanna keep losing approval whenever I do ANYTHING Chantry related. The hunting down mages I can understand, but helping them recover history? Why is that bad again?

Do the Oghren gifts from Origins still give him the full approval bonuses in Awakening?

Nope, he starts at neutral. It's basically impossible to get his approval up high enough to complete his personal quest it seems. I need to do further testing, however.

No, I meant - if you bring the Oghren gifts from Origins into Awakening, can you then give them to him for full approval bonuses?

I'm on PS3 here, so it isn't just a PC thing. I don't know what causes it, hopefully someone figures it out soon.

Definitely agreed. In the meantime, the question remains. Do imported Oghren gifts from Origins give full approval bonuses to him in Awakening?

Nope, they act as normal gifts. They only go for +5, I used an Ale which gave me a +10 in origins and all I got was +1 from him.

Yeah. I'd hoped it wasn't the case, since the 99-attribute-point-bug I'd read about didn't seem to register with my current playthrough.
