Second: You came to the wrong place. See above.
I liked Oblivion. I felt, and still feel, that it is the most immersive game I have ever played. Its light on RPG elements, so keep that in mind.

And if you get Oblivion, buy Morrowind GotY PC as well.
You'll thank me later.

It's a decent enough game. The main quest line is very short and can be completed in maybe 40 minutes. Then again, it's pretty much a sand box style game. There are a lot of side quests and plenty of roaming around to be done that greatly increase the play length. I'd get the pc version there are quite a few mods available.
40 minutes? Thats a massive exaggeration. 4 hours, which is still short compared to the 100 hours I logged on one character.

there is a super massive glitch if you use it then yes it can be completed. But there is so many quests you would not have done it wouldn't actually be considered complete...Jalem001 wrote...

However, if you buy Oblivion to play it, you don't play it for the main story. The side-quests and other stuff you can do is the only thing that makes the game feel less shallow than a facepaint.

It is only possible to acquire a Daedric artifact at level 1 if one beats the toughest NPC in the game to get the Umbra sword. But this is not possible without hours of grinding for gold so one can purchase the best magical staff in the game.
About romances: there are Oblivion mods for absolutely everything.

Good enough game, although it remains inferior to Morrowind because of less content and requires, like, 3GB of mods just to fix the bare essetials and add more variety, not to mention other mods you may want to add.
This. I personally consider Oblivion (and Fallout 3 after it) unplayable out of the box, both because of the sheer quality of mods some people have made in their own time for free, and how broken the vanilla game is.

Any mods that add in fast travel by any chance?

Maybe the Multiple Mark mod?Onyx Jaguar wrote...
^^^At least you have fast travel. I personally prefer Morrowind but the lack of fast travel had to have added 30 hours onto my playthrough of that.

But with Mage teleports, boats, silt striders & levitation (scrolls of windwalker), I never saw the point... the first thing I always do in Morrowind is picking up the Boots of Blinding Speed.

With that said, every once and a while I like to wander through Oblivion. The landscape is extremely vivid.

I've played it since day one and have modded for it for 2years. There are great "adult mods" for oblivion including my favorite "sexy companion" which I had a hand in creating. She is a fully functional companion and sex is realistic, oral and intercourse!Libertin84 wrote...
Who played this game? Is it any good? Does it have the romance option in it like DAO? I'm considering buying it but yeah... just thought I'd see what people here think of it first lol

Except that she dies very easily to a simple sneak attack and the good old pulling and feinting with a bow.virumor wrote...
It's not possible to finish Oblivion at level 1, since one needs to acquire a Daedric artifact during the main quest, and the lowest required level to start a Daedric quest is level 2.

I personally can't really play either Oblivion or Morrowind without mods now that they're available, but I find them to be of rather equivalent value with them. Oblivion messes up just as much as it improves, but there is still plenty of potential there with good mods added, as there is with Morrowind.

Playing vanilla since release and still love it.
Of course mods do make everything even better.
