There is no amount of words to describe the rage I would feel if that happened... It would be like getting screwed even harder over the DLC flub in Awakenings.screwoffreg wrote...
Well, we need to also remember the Baldurs Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast had NO crossover to the second game. It may turn out the Awakenings will have little to no relevance to a sequel, even IF we get to use our characters. With that said, it means our DA:O end saves will be the only ones that matter in that the decisions they record will change the sequel.
Awakening's lack of a post-ending save

It may be because we are going to get a clean slate like they did in Baldurs Gate II. There is always our "final" autosaves from Awakenings which track everything from Origins anyway.
This makes the most sense.

May as well accept that if we are a playable Warden in DA2, he will be GREATLY depowered, likely through some terrible trauma, OR he will appear as a spirit or ghost to guide the new protagonist, and how the character met their fate will be deliberately withheld...
...which is better anyway. The Warden can have no happy ending. They are destined for a violent death, and one I don't think people would enjoy playing.
Let's move on. Be something else. A Chevalier maybe.

Or they'll have a completely different combat and spell system, and won't need to provide an explanation as to why your character is starting at level 1 again

Or, you know, you could just suck it up and accept that you're now level one again. As I keep hitting upon, levels are an abstraction, nothing more.

I would at least like some of the choices to carry over, but after reading this I'm worrying.

Well all we know is that Bioware told us to keep our saves in late 2009. A likely sequel is coming out in February 2011. Everything else is speculation
