Outraged? Nah. The only gamestopper bug I ran into was one caused by a mod. Should've listened to my own advice and disabled it at the beginning.

I ran into the silverite mines lost gear bug ... don't consider that a gamestopper, but annoying. Also, the Power of Blood abilities .... just bizarre. Don't know why they said those would carry over when they didn't.

Do I like the new conversation system? Meh. As I said, I would integrate it with the previous one in a longer game with more char. interaction.

Was I happy to see a companion with an approval bar redshirted? Nah. Origins had a bursting surplus of warriors, this game seems to have a shortage (and that's why that ticked me off), but that's all I can say without going into spoilerzone.

I think the Runecrafting system is a bit borked, both by design and implementation, and have said so. I also don't think they handled the "starting nekkid" problem at the beginning properly.

Was there a lack of continuity? Yeah, as I said so, I would have liked to see some more, even if it was only established by a few lines of text/dialogue.

Is it too overpriced? Yes, I still think $40 is high for any expansion. This one IS good in many areas but still not worth that.

Lengthwise? It's a bit too short for $40. The sidequest map areas are all basically a single battle and done. Nothing to explore/see/do/find/interact with. You need to go to all three main quest areas to get all the higher level rune tracings and great, so by the time you're ready to make the highest level runes, it's already endgame.

All in all, though, I thought as usual many of the areas were beautifully done, the new companions were as interesting personality-wise as some of the old, the new items are very cool, I like the new "Wadecrafts", there were many good points. So no I'm not outraged. I do think it was priced a bit too high for what was delivered, though. For $40 there should have been a bit more QA, too.

This "expansion" is what a DLC should look like,

What? Small, unfulfilling, and can't make others come?

Besides ending too soon and being a bit too easy, I had a fun time with Awakening. For what it was worth, I actually enjoyed the time I spent in it more than I did in Origins (though Origins is far superior in terms of its sheer length alone).

In summery: I'm not poor and I can think of FAR worse ways to blow 35 dollars.

I'm outraged that I've yet to finish a so-called "10 hour" expansion.  I've probably gone through the intro and early sidequests on more characters than all the contributors to this topic combined.

Then again, I have yet to finish DA:O—I've yet to finish the "Arl of Redcliffe" main quest on any character.  And the hours I've put into it (a statistic which apparently Steam tracks for me) are many indeed.

I suppose it doesn't help that I periodically fire up the game and "Switch Career | Delete" every character I see in a fit of, well, outrage I suppose?  I mean if they're taking longer than the mythical 10 hours to finish Awakening, they must not be good enough, right? :o

That said, while I enjoy Awakening (as any of numerous Orlesian Grey Wardens I've tried), I do wish that it had been a more integrated, seamless continuation of the original game and that all DLC content had been respected.

I also wish neither Origins nor Awakening mandated a forced companion taking the place of one of your existing companions.  Whenever you must have a forced companion for story purposes, you should be given the option of replacing a current companion or adopting the forced companion as a temporary "fifth" while pursuing the relevant quest or exploring the relevant area(s).  It's not Awakening-specific but it's about as "outrage" as I'll get when I'm not rampaging through my characters deleting 'em willy-nilly.

Somewhat and I supose you all know why. For those that do not: the source of my rage is the Ultimate Sacrifice ending not fully carrying on plotwise. Otherwise, I doubt I'd have any worthy compaints.

The "outraged" people need to make the ultimate sacrifice and go away! Seriously you are going to email bioware? You fail.

I'm outraged because I had to wake up this morning at 4am. I am outraged because my neighbor above me thinks he can sing/rap and fails terribly at it. I am outraged because I didn't win the lottery even though I haven't boughten a lottery ticket.

I am however, not outraged by DA:A.

Not outraged because I'm not a basement dweller, but the game was severely disappointing in many aspects. Not worth 40$

But we all still bought it so Bioware doesn't rightly care about the complaints. Like most game companies, they enjoy making cash.

I am not outraged or dissapointed - although I am not as blown away as I was by Origins but I have still found Awakening to be an enjoyable game.

I just hope that DA2 focuses more on the character interactions and choices like DAO.

I'm about 7 hours into Awakening and I'm loving it. The only faults are that stealing doesn't work anymore (that might be because of the 1.03 patch) and how easy the battles are. Other than that I feel they did a solid job with the expansion.

I am very curious why are you outraged. Please explain.

Ditto. I am 15 hours into the game and love it too.
I find that it sometimes is HARD on NIGHTMARE difficulty with an orlesian warden.

Hopefully they will patch it and make it more difficult, so that it gets more difficult with a imported character.
Stuff like not making it possible to get all 4 new weapons-talents once you are level 20 would also help. Can't understand what the developers were thinking there. Of course, it will make a certain subset of the DAOA gamers cry that their characters gets less powerful when patched but they can always mod it back to easier difficulty.

I'm pissed that I bought a 40USD game that I can't play. Install went fine, but won't start. Good work Bioware!

With all negative critique this game received, I wonder if it's any idea to actually play it.

Awakening is a mediocre expansion. Not too bad, but lacks the link to DA:O (I also think it would be better, if they would have forced you to create a new warden - the missing link to DA:O is my main concern), party interaction and some time for polishing.

I also think it's way to easy (playing on nightmare all the time, was in DA:O *way* harder if you picked a "not so imba"-class (as aw/bm *cough* ;)) ) and at maybe 28+ it just became ridiculous (equipment, skills, money-wise).

And it would be an good idea not to fire the whole QA-department next time, so you have a department to test the game. If you actually *had* a QA-department testing DA:A - tell them they should do some work next time. Missing equipment on import *without* at least giving some default items is unbelievable (worst case: going naked into first fight). Issue in silverite mine (missing inventar) is also very serious and quite common.

I am in no way outraged with this expansion. There are a few things that I would have liked to have seen done slightly differently, but regardless of that Awakening was a marvelous addition to the DAO world. My only hope is that I get more DLC and expansions soon. I have a true fondness for all of the characters that I have developed in my DAO play throughs. I sincerely don't want to stop playing with any of them. Thanks to BioWare for their handwork!

My main problem with Awakening was the lack of emotion and depth. The companions only talk when they have high enough approval rating and there isnt the same level of emotion. The best example is when you meet up with Alistair and Wynne, these are two people who the character has spent an important part of their life with and when he/she sees them again its just a case of 'hi, how are you, bye'.

Also when are we getting a patch!?! The amount of bugs in the game is massive, when I finished the main quest after the epilogue, it just looped a buggy version of the final cutscene (Killing the final boss).

If you are outraged, feel cheated over DA:A then do more than just post here in the forums.  Do as I did and e-mail Bioware. It will be harder for them to disreguard so many e-mails as they can with the forums.

If you feel "cheated" that confirms you are silly.

I'm not outraged, just disappointed that I didn't have the good sense to wait until it was ten bucks cheaper, used or otherwise. DA and DA:A are messing up my xbox, so it's obnoxious to play.

How is it silly? Not everyone enjoyed the expansion. Some people DID feel cheated. Maybe they had set their expectations too high? It doesn't matter. The game did let down a lot of people.

I'm not outraged. Rather, I am thoroughly enjoying Awakening. At approx. 12 hours into it, I figure I am probably near half-way through. This is an outstanding expansion overall. The game has only crashed a couple of times for me; which isn't bad considering this is a relatively new game on the market.

Outraged? You Sir are nothing but a spoiled brat, i'm sorry. Awakening is one of the best expansions i have ever played.

My god, man...  You need to play more expansions...  I mean, almost every Elder Scroll series had solid expansions...  And these don't hold a candle to Diablo, Warcraft 2, any MMO, and even Fallout 3...  Calling someone a spoiled brat when you're basically trolling in mindless support is so beautifully ironic.
 s.

What fantasy land do you live in?  Fallout 3 EXPANSION WERE RECALLED BECAUSE THEY WERE UNPLAYABLE!!! Get your facts straight kid.

Every MMO has had expansions launched with game stopping bugs. Get your head out of fantasy land and into reality.  Lying about past expansions is simply trollilng.  :P

Cheated is when you buy 10lbs of turkey and go home, weigh it, and find out it's actually 7lbs.

Buying DAOA is not getting "cheated" , if people bothered to read the faq or previews they would have known what they were buying.  :o
