I'm not outraged, just disappointed that I didn't have the good sense to wait until it was ten bucks cheaper, used or otherwise. DA and DA:A are messing up my xbox, so it's obnoxious to play.

I'm not sure what planet a top selling EA published 30 hour RPG is going to drop to $10 in a few weeks...

Throne of Bhal is still $13

10 hours of content? What the hell did you do? Nothing? Lol

Mine was about 10 hours and I did almost every quest except for Ogrhen's mission, Sigrun's loyatly mission and Velanna's.  Plus I was going through a few fetch quests and quit midway to most of the way through because it just felt like grinding to me.

Also I'm on a console and DA seems to be a little bit.. quicker

10 hours?  Did you play on casual and fast forward every dialog?    I'm on a console and got 29 hours on hard.  If I rushed I could have done it in 22

I'm not outraged but I definately feel like there are some issues.

1. You can't speak to companions whenever you want- I didn't feel like I got to know them properly because there diaglogue is pretty sparce.

2. Glitches- so many glitches

(Spoiler, I don't think so but just in case)

3. It assumes you read the Calling- I had no idea what-so-ever what the Architect wanted untill the end. The dialogue seemed to suggest that I knew what he was and what he wanted and the companions and NPC's assumed the same thing but without reading the book I had no clue. I managed to surmise what he wanted from a very short codex entry but they could have at least let me have a conversation him before the last 10 minutes of the game.

4. Side quests suck- they need fleshing out especially a certain quest that should be of massive importance.

5. It is way too easy- I played on nightmare and could easily have soloed it with minimal use of poultices. In the main game I wouldn't be able to do this with such ease. Seriously, I could do half the battles with no real tactical strategy with ease.

Despite all of that I think it was a fun experience but I think it needed some fleshing out. Was it worth £31, probably not, but with a few replays it certainly will be.

I just hope that the sequal leans more towards what Origins was rather than Awakening but it's not something to be outraged about.

I have just finished Awakening and found it to be quite good, for £15 i can't complain about it being to short and having played all the Fallout 3 games the expanstion The Pitt could be finished alot sooner than this game. The only flaws i found were the companions were to shallow there was not the same amount of interaction as there was in Origins, the addition of a party chest was a good idea, pity it did not come in Origins i know if you download the warden game for Origins you get it but i will not pay extra for what should be included in the game also the creating your own runes i never got chance to use. Overall i was pleased with it, a bit longer would have been better, will play it again but make a new char the one i used for the game i took from Origins and she was a bit to powerful for the enemies i encountered.

I don't even mind waiting a few months . . . will be getting AC2, and it's been out for a few months already. I just don't want to spend that much for something I'll probably only play once.

If you are outraged, feel cheated over DA:A then do more than just post here in the forums.  Do as I did and e-mail Bioware. It will be harder for them to disreguard so many e-mails as they can with the forums.

If you feel "cheated" that confirms you are silly.

How is it silly? Not everyone enjoyed the expansion. Some people DID feel cheated. Maybe they had set their expectations too high? It doesn't matter. The game did let down a lot of people.

Cheated is when you buy 10lbs of turkey and go home, weigh it, and find out it's actually 7lbs.

Buying DAOA is not getting "cheated" , if people bothered to read the faq or previews they would have known what they were buying.  :o

Not really. At all. You can only get so much from an FAQ or preview. I read up and was super excited for this expansion. So was my sister. I bought it. It was very... unsatisfying. The experience was mediocre at best. The only thing keeping me playing it was the achievements and Velanna, because she reminds me of my Dalish elf's mentality.
Less use of retarded emotes next time too there. It's hard to take anything you say seriously.

What for Bioware gave to me to feel strong friendship and ... relationship in DAO?! What for? What simply to forget that in DA:A?! How, if I am not the person, but silly NPC (capable only to pay money)??!.

OK! Well ... I've made necessary useful, but unattractive work in *Awakening* - it is all that I feel... and more: I dislike DA:A.

Outraged? You Sir are nothing but a spoiled brat, i'm sorry. Awakening is one of the best expansions i have ever played.

My god, man...  You need to play more expansions...  I mean, almost every Elder Scroll series had solid expansions...  And these don't hold a candle to Diablo, Warcraft 2, any MMO, and even Fallout 3...  Calling someone a spoiled brat when you're basically trolling in mindless support is so beautifully ironic.
 s.

What fantasy land do you live in?  Fallout 3 EXPANSION WERE RECALLED BECAUSE THEY WERE UNPLAYABLE!!! Get your facts straight kid.

Every MMO has had expansions launched with game stopping bugs. Get your head out of fantasy land and into reality.  Lying about past expansions is simply trollilng.  :P

To say nothing about the fact that expansions to MMOs:
1) take years
2) HAVE TO be huge or there is no point

What's with the name calling kid?  Don't be a troll "only the first 2 DLC were recalled"   oh, only the first 2 ROFL how does that change anything?

FO3 expansion were recalled, FACT.  Saying DAOA is "more buggy" is trolling and ignores facts

If you play Assassin's Creed 2 more than once, that will earn you a trophy, I can't make it past hour 4... so boring

And you using the term "retarded" helps everyone take you seriously?  How about calling things mediocre and unsatisfying, yet you finished it and provide no examples of what is mediocre.

It's hard to take anything you say as other than kiddie trollin:bandit:

It's funny how your only counter-argument is always "you are cursing and your arguments are therefore void".

Are you christian, by any chance?
Do you start crying whenever someone calls you an idiot?

This is the internet.
Get used to people swearing, even if it isn't necessary.
Adapt if you have to but don't play your "you big cursing child" card whenever you feel like you can't respond to the argument beyond the insults.

I liked it well enough, but I also didn't encounter any bugs. If it had been a buggy mess, I can see being annoyed.

The game certainly had its flaws and spots it could have used some fleshing out, but overall, it was an expansion and I enjoyed playing it. Do I think it maybe should have been priced $5-$10 less than it was? Yeah, probably. But I still don't regret the purchase.

£30? Bah, I think not. Infact I think I may just avoid BioWare in the future, if this is how they treat their customers while they pump out sub-standard RPG.

Wow i had no idea there was so much hate for Awakenings! I just finished it and this is my first time back (didn't want to see spoilers). I wished it was longer - because i thought it was good. I had no bugs at all - but i can see why that would annoy people. As for "I will never buy from BW again" well i guess you are going to miss a lot of great games in the future.

Last point - its an expansion for christ sake!! It took me 16 hrs to finish. That is good value for an expansion (and a lot of full price games aren't that long).

i agree with MonkeyChief177 its a expansion not a complete new game ur not gonna get as many hours like you did from dragon age origins but it was very overpriced for ps3 and xbox which was the only disappointing thing about it

My guess is those who hate Awakening also hate awaking each day. Hate is caused within the perciever - not something that is created by any game or other external cause. Sorry about injecting a bit of philosophy, but there you have it.

Personally I am enjoying it as I was going through a third DA:O playthrough and wanted some "new" stuff to go through, and it was good to have the choice of using an old character or starting from scratch. Although, even though I haven't completed it, I have the PC version so I picked it up for £15 - not sure how chuffed I would have been if I had forked out £30 for it.

I wish the characters had more dialog and that you could save vigils keep and amaranthin or however it's spelled. I also wish there was more of brogarrus but that cannot be done. He's in a different game and he's probably calibrating.
