A batarian Squadmate... Why not..

We already got a Krogan and a Geth...

Anyway, a Batarian probably has many things to say.

If interesting dialogs and stories are involved i'm 100% for a Bat' Squadmate.

Regardless of what people think, a batarian party member makes logical sence. They an intelligent race unlike the vorca so they can provide an interesting perspective of the terminus systems and what it's like to be a batarian, that the humans and council races don't have.

Also it'd be keeping in theme with ME 2, introducing characters you couldn't have in your crew before.

Nothing against the idea itself, but we have too many party members already.

I say yes. Batarians as a species deserve some more character development beyond "they're all slavers and pirates".

Nothing agaisnt it, but my shepard would hate it to death. He is a colony/war hero and as such don´t like batarians much. He is paragon usually but when he is facing some batarians... then he is a bit evil :P

Since the tech guy on Garrus's Archangel team was a Batarian and I need a Garrus / Archangel EP more than oxygen right now, I have reversed my opinion about the evils of Batarian squadmantes.

I bet if the batarians were "prettier" all the fanboys would rush over to join them and make a batarian support thread even if they are pirates and terrorists.

It's nearly the same with krogans, isn't it? Ok, they are no slave hunters, but except of that: why do so many people find them cool? They are cruel. Fight, violence, being a survivor are absolutely central points in teir culture and society. The only advantages when you compare hem with batarians are that they are not slave hunters, ook a bit better and you already met some krogans who were not exactly nice, but sth similiar. If in bring down the sky the guys would have been krogans more peope would hate them.

there has to be a poll about this topic. Could someone link it? (or did I just miss a post where it's linked?)

I support the Batarian squad member

He could be a scientist working on biochemical weapons with a poison cloud power and a posion ammo unlockable power...

...add a vorca scientist and the game is perfect... maybe even a vampire, just because they are awesome (although I hate vampires...)... and one of these guys --> :alien: , each serious SFI-background needs them (to make something new they could be green)...

While I understand why ME 2 had so many new characters, I really hope there won't be "new" additions to the Normandy crew. I simply don't care about more entry-level relationships for my Shepard. I want a focus on the main story and the recruited - still living - crew as well as Normandy I survivors.

...and by the way, batarians are dead ugly ;) ...on the other hand, he needs to be romancable if added:wub:

Sure I'll take Batarian. Just throw him in the Cargo Bay and he'll work on the shuttle or Hammerhead. I wonder if he'll have connections to get us a gunship?

Well not bad idea.

But I would still like to have Alliance to screw Council( if you saved them) and invade Batarians in ME3.

Heh, maybe even that you try to stop war because of Reapers.

Agree completely.

Batarain squad mate? I really don't care.  I'de rather see bioware focus on further developing all the squad mates from ME2 and possibly making another from ME1 return as well.  I think they will create at least 1 new character or bring back 1 old character as a squadmate for ME3 in case someone played ME2 like an Ahole and let everyone except 1 on the their team die.

No, they're ****ing ugly. However, it would fit in the uniting the peoples of the Galaxy thing the games are obviously heading towards.

Hopefully the uniting of the galaxy will come about because of an immediate awareness of the reapers impending presence, maybe an attack on earth or an alien home world or even a complete takeover of the citadel could set the initial stage. I don't want to play cosmic diplomat in the ME3. *snore*

I'm positive there will be a Batarian team mate in ME3, positive. Likely he will be against the Batarian hegemony and there will be some kind of loyalty mission involving that. I hate Batarian voices though, so he won't be fun to talk to.

When i first saw Batarians in ME dlc they looked bad, and i did not liked them. But Batarians on Omega were different. While their face may require some time to get used to, now it seems that they are not worse or less intelligent that other races are, and they think just like humans, unlike asari, salarian, turian or krogan.

To be honest i think there's still a huge need for diplomacy, especially if you chose a certain ending in ME2. I don't think the unity will come about until in the end stages of ME3 at the earliest.
