Posting again, I want a Batarian in my squad...and I am a colonist, sole survivor, Shepard... I like to think his tragedy has made him see how fragile life really is and not to hold grudges but move on and live each day to the fullest and never waste time with hate and anger. He'd give a Batarian the same type of chance he gave Garrus (a Truian who everyone in the Alliance said he should hate) and Legion (a Geth, do I even have to qualify why this could be a issue).

Also just because you're Shepard is against something/doesn't like it, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game.

Being shot at.
Does that mean that all shooting sections should be removed from the game?

No thanks; the only "new" (note the quotes) squad member I want is a certain Asari from ME 1.  After that, I have all the squadmates that I want.

Maybe as an option IF all your squaddies died in the SM....*shrug* sure...then I could see it.  If you imported Shep from ME 2?  No.

I don't want an alien with equal eyes as a tarantula on my squad. That and the fact that I never really cared about having a Batarian squadmate. Mmm... nope, can't think of why I'd want one ^^ but it'd be tough to romance, you'd need to grow more eyes.

I completely agree. You can't let personal grudges affect you even if you have a bad experience with members of a species. You should give everyone an equal chance. Captain Anderson was in the first contact war, I believe, and he doesn't hold a grudge against turians (Not like Terra Firma).

Also, I agree with Godwood. Just because your Shepard dislikes something (Or you make him dislike something) Doesn't mean something should be removed. My Shepard hates being rushed by krogan, yet krogan enemies shouldn't be removed.

Tarantula have eight eyes. *smirk* So I don't see four-eyed Batarians being an issue here.

Also, I'm glad to see many pro-Batarian forumites here. (Although all the writing for ME3 must be already done and the Batarian squaddie is either present in the game or doesn't exist, so our support or lack of thereof won't change anything at this point.)

I would so like a Batarian i think he could easily fall in line with the badd assery of a krogan. I would love to see Grunt and Batarian Squadmate go at it.



Personally I really liked Kathka(sp?) sucks he was working too hard. :-D

i just want, Tali, Liara, Garrus, Kasumi and Thane. as long as these are on my Ship ill be happy, oh and Joker but i think that come with the territory.

True that, its probably too late, its either in the game or not by now, but it helps keep hope alive, lol. We must dream, and who knows maybe in a game that expands the ME story past Shepard they'll make something about the Batarians because of us....maybe.

Yes.

My Shep is a War Hero that fought the Batarians during the Skyllian Blitz. He still distrusts them, but that would be part of the fun of having one on the squad, especially if the Batarian feels the same way about Shep. It would make for a lot of fun back and forth banter, as well as character development, particularly if they come to let go of some of the hard feelings over the war, and come to trust each other.

Might want to count a Batarians eyes again, A Batarian squadmate would be interesting.

Alright, I realize I'm necro-ing this, but is anyone else actually still looking forward to having a batarian squadmate?

I'm DYING for a batarian squadmate, would be really awesome if we can get them in ME3.

So far we had an Asari, Drell, Salarian, Turian, Geth, Krogan, and Quarian as squadmembers, an additional batarian would be an awesome addition to a highly diversified team.

As for Hanar, Elcor, Volus and Vorcha, they could play a supporting crew

I'd love a Batarian squadmate. Also out of the current aliens I think they are the most likely due to their human skeleton. Less need for unique armour, etcetera.

Hopefully. After playing arrival I just want a batarian squadmate member so bad. Great source of conversation for Colonist/War Hero/Ruthless Shepard I'm sure!

A Batarian squad make will make him one of the most interesting NEW squad characters in Mass Effect 3.
You destroyed an entire Batarian system that has become known to the Batarians your the cause in the start of mass effect 3 apparntly, having a Batarian on your team maybe not a pirate or a gang member etc... maybe hes an elite operative from his home systems. Who knows, since most batarians are not scum, the only ones are scum are the ones you meet cause they illegaly left Batarian space, and those that left were either Pirates, Gangs or other scum like that.

Judging by the start of mass effect 3, it seems the Batarians were hit first by the Reapers, i would assume this would give a Batarian member a strong sence of what is at stake for his race.

Course these are just logical things i would see in having a strong batarian character as your squad mate. Maybe for all we know he was away on to the citadel with batarian ambbassadors when they got the late news of the batarians being obliderated by the Reapers, say his family was destroyed with millions of other battarians (maybe billions) all i know is that their is a lot of possibilities of making a Batarian squad mate have a realy good character then people think one could be, you think like a turian, your to headstrong.

Don't want a batarian party member now Not because the concept sucks, but because I think we have enough characters now from ME1&2 as potential team mates. For ME3 I'd rather get deeper into those characters than bring in new ones.

i dont want to see any new squad members, since its the last in this trilogy id rather they focus on tying up the stories of the ME1 and 2 squads rather than waste time adding new characters for the last one.

Personally i think the best thing to do would be have all the squad from ME1 and 2 available to recruit but set a limit to the number you can have that way everyone can choose which characters theyd like to complete the story for and everyone is happy
