Disagreed. I actually found credits more of a problem in ME 1 than ME 2. At least in 2 you get funding.
Really? There is enough credits in ME2 to buy everything, but ME1 was a joke in this aspect. Everyone had 9999999 credits in the end, with all the best gear and everything.

ME1 ... short on credits? You're kidding, right? I got to the point where I couldn't spend money fast enough to get rid of it. If I remember right, my entire team was wearing Collosus X armor with the best weapons and upgrades and I was still maxed out on credits.

The "minigames" (hacking/unlocking/planet scanning) need to go die in a fire somewhere.
The ONLY material in ME3 should be credits. No fuel, no probes, no unobtanium, element zero, palladium, platinum, whatever. Just credits.
No minigames either. You shouldn't need to unlock stuff, waste of time and feels like a flow breaker.
That said don't fall into the ME1 way-too-much-credits routine.

Because currently, any sane gamer (especially any sane Commander) would never do such horribly decisions that make somebody die. But it is a suicide mission. There should be topics about: "Woooooot I managed to get five Squadmates out of there alive" instead of "TIM as LI" ...

I don't see how this is possible. With the sheer amount of armor, weapons, ammo, and upgrades found in ME1 (especially later in the game that are sold for ~10K each) you can easily get over 1,000,000 credits while still having a crapload of items in your inventory.
In ME2 I have to be careful with what I choose to spend money on. I think credits is the more rare resource in ME2. I can always scan a couple more planets for some raw materials, but not credits (unless I am forgetting something ...)

Actually, Bioware should patch their game and decrease the amount of money you get, making only about a half of the upgrades available and increase the impact of those upgrades in the Suicide Mission, so that Members that are not sufficiently upgraded die, or in case you chose the medium part aka upgrading everything moderately, luck decides who survives and who not.

I have to say, I agree with this aswell.
Im on my fourth playthrough now, and I haven't had a squadmate die yet. That shouldn't really be possible in a game thats so focused on the fact that it's unlikely the crew will all make it back alive.

Agreed, though somewhat off-topic. I suppose the connection is simply that the game might be more interesting if it didn't coddle you as much. (And I don't mean in terms of difficulty of combat, which is a topic for 1000 other threads, but in terms of how limited you can be in riches and successfulness.)
There is plenty of money if you are determined to go find money. Plus, you do not need to BUY every upgrade in order to GET every upgrade. Several can be unlocked through planet scanning OR through purchase. But personally, I wouldn't mind if the game were a little more strict, telling you that you can't have it all.
And give Cerberus a break. Sure, they aren't giving you limitless funding, but come on, bringing a man back from the dead (and rebuilding his top-secret space ship) can be pricey.

Maybe. *shrug* I didn't really get enough credits until the end. I haven't played ME 1 in a while so I may be incorrect.
