The most dissapointing thing is the lack of timescale given by the developers to deal with the problems therein. Can we expect a patch in the next few days or months?

Gotta agree with this, I expect more from a respected company like bioware. These days all I need to buy a game is a bioware logo on the side, because I know it will be of high quality.SteppenBlud wrote...
I am disappointed to say the least. As a gaming community (developers, producers, players), are we really back to the days of "release now, patch later" philosophy?

In the company's defense, there's a LOT of stuff to test in a multi-path sort of game like this, so it's pretty obvious there would be a lot of bugs. Always seems this way with large RPG games, too many variables.
This.But I digress.
Regarding an Awakening patch for PC users, would XBOX360 users such as myself be able to have our game issues resolved? Or is that just wishful thinking?

This last week we have been glued to the forums to see what bugs are showing since the release. I can say that are certainly looking at issues that are being reported and doing what we can to triage them. Keep reporting issues folks, we want to keep this game all types of awesome.
I see. Will this "new" development extend to DA:O or can we expect it to never be patched?

That is also my question, because I am waiting for the original game to be fixed before I even consider buying the expansion. I mean the dex bug already has a fix and was released in the 1.02 patch that pc users got three months ago, so that would be a good start. A few small fixes like that here and there instead of a big patch would go a long way to ease concerns I think.

In my dog's defense, he is an animal and it's pretty obvious that sometimes they might poop on things.
If others are fine with these issues, live and let live. I'm not. I bought a product under good faith, believing that it performed as implied. It didn't come with any warnings on the label that "some quests might not function correctly" or "The Gaming General has determined that the Silverite Mine might cause some players to lose equipment".
As a gamer, when playing, I expect the best of myself, of my abilities, I'm always pushing. I think all gamers do. And I expect the same of the companies I buy my games from.

I'm sorry but from what i ve seen in game and what i ve read in the forum the amount of bugs in the game is quite astonishing..... so if you are working on fixing all the bugs well.... our patch will be out next year......

Sadly, that's a pretty damn accurate assessment of the current situation. I really wish it wasn't.
The only constructive thing I could add would be for us as customers to keep reporting the issue via the official tech support site. It might seem like banging your head against a wall, but multiple complaints doesn't look good for anyone in Bioware.
I played through DA:O three times but at the moment, the Awakenings bugs are making me want to just call it a day.
