LOL

this thread is hilarious.

Isn't it obvious?

Awakenings was a unfinished piece of doo doo in comparison to Origins.

You are complaining because the expansion wasn't finished.

Or more accurately, because it was released unfinished.

Well? I hope you've learned your lesson.

Regardless of the circumstances of your origin becomming a warden, you agreed to accept Duncan as you lord, your leige. How you act reflects upon your race, Duncan and the Grey Wardens, and you personally. I will go so far as to say that if i was Duncan and you started getting mouthy with the king i would have back handed you so quick i would have knocked you clean out of your greaves. Hell i would have hit you so hard you would have woke up after the battle probably a few teeth lighter and deservedly so. MNot kneeling to King Allister or Queen Anora diminishes them but as you are responsible for thier ascention it diminishes you as well, the choice is yours after all i just wanted to provide a few valid reasons and some perspective.

All of this leaves aside the fact that NO ONE KNEELS to Cailan, including Duncan.  Or to Anora.  So why do we see people kneeling to Alistair or Anora in the expansion?

You can in fact get up in Cailan's face when you meet him.  My Dalish warden said "you're no friend of mine, human lord," and Cailan takes it very well.  If you call him a fool in your talk with Duncan later on, Duncan does admonish you to show him respect, but there's no slapping involved.  You remain securely in your greaves.

Fereldans are a proud people and the system appears to be fairly decentralized despite it being a monarchy.  So bootlicking the monarch doesn't appear to be an expectation, regardless of your station.

In my oppinion the character should not kneel before Anora, or Alistair or anyone except maybe The First. He/She is The Hero of Ferelden, and The Commander of The Grey. Grey Wardens are above social politics and as such, whilst they may choose to show respect to others, such blatant deferrence is beneath them. The Grey Wardens may serve all, but they bow to no-one.
