I have started a run on insanity with the sentinel and seems easy so are but I am thinking I am going to run into trouble soon. Just wanted to know what weapon training to get and if it is possible to do on insanity?
Is the Sentinel good for insanity?

Depends on your definition of good. If you mean minimal deaths with high speed, than Sentinel is one of the best classes of all.

Ahh cool, I am good at sitting back as I didn't like the Vanguard for insanity as much...

Sentinels are good for Insanity, yes. They have the powers that attack any defense, and with Tech Armour you spend a hell of a lot less time waiting for shields to recharge.
They can be played a few different ways, so which weapon training to take will differ on how you want to play. If you're likely to hang back most of the time, you might want Sniper Rifles (Viper). If you want to use Assault Armour to charge in close and make use of the blast when the armour goes down, Shotguns would well suit that style. Assault Rifle gives you the flexibility to do either depending on which approach would work best, but doesn't excel at either role as much.

The Sentinel with an assault rifle is win.
Only died a couple times throughout the entire game.
Tech armor is probably my favorite ability in ME2 as well

I still don't see the point in choosing AR 'cause you have an SMG. Sniper rifle, imo.

I finished my Insanity run on a Sentinel I had ran the game through on normal once before, so I started at level 30 and with the assault rifle I had gotten from the Collector Ship.
I use Dominate as my Bonus power (Full ranked of course).
I always had Miranda in my group (the second squad member varies along with the missions enemies). Combination of Miranda's abilities and mine, we easily took down any protection of normal hostiles and then used Dominate on them to use as a distraction and then shoot away.
Or used Dominate to save my life when things went bad (since it instantly stuns the target and then causes them to attack other enemies).
Having the max reduction of cooldowns and having Power Armor boosted the already sweet combo.
I got the Geth Pulse Rifle at the Tali's recruitment mission (which imo is the best weapon a sentinel can have). The Rifle has the most superior fire rate, drains out all shields and barriers really quickly.
At the Samara's Loyalty mission, I chose Morinth over Samara, just to get the second Dominate and Pull / Throw for the suicide mission, which made it really easy. Having two Mind Controlled Collector Drones / Assassins attacking Harbinger.
A important tip, that you WILL need for the Insanity run:
When Harbinger shoots the slower moving ball at you, move left and right in your cover while it's flying towards you to make it miss you. If done correctly, the missile will just fly over your head instead of popping you out of cover and getting you killed or at the very least, your shields blasted wide open.
----So to sum up----
Use appropriate powers / abilities to drain out the weakest (if possible the nearest) targets protection, leaving them with only the health bar and then Dominate them. Use your squads powers to finish off other targets while the Dominated one causes havoc amongst his own forces.
Sure, you can throw a heavy warp around every now and then, but make sure to have the Dominates cooldown ready for when the effect ends.
The only trickier parts are fights with synthetics, like Geth and Mechs, you just have to spam overload off you and Miranda and keep your self alive. (Having Legion or Tali for AI Hack is a great help on missions like these.)
