 I've completed the game and now want to start a game on Insanity to work on getting the achivements. The only problem is that the game will not allow me to select a difficulty. Two people share this xbox and this problem is only happening on my profile. When you start a new game, in the place where it normally shows what difficulty you want to select, there is no text. There is only an arrow (<) like it will let you select a lower difficulty (also at the bottom of the screen it says control bindings). You can also not change the difficulty when in game either. It has the same problem. 

Yesterday I bought a new Xbox (for other reasons), and thought the problem should be fixed. Loaded up my gamertag, and put in the disk, downloaded the game update, and.....same problem. Please help

Jesus i hate when that problem happens. i beat it on hardcore and got gamer pic and acheivement. can't pick insanity (GODDAMMIT)
