I killed the Avaar lord guy who was chilling in the basement of Vigil's Keep (the quest that gives you the Master Lyrium Potion Recipe), and I looted from the Lord's body a pair of Sentinel boots. Is this a glitch, a set drop or a rare drop? It didn't seem right that I looted those boots from him, especially since I found no other duplicate pieces of the Sentinel armor.
Second set of Sentinel armor?

I think it is a luck drop because i got those 2. boots at my third try and i didtn find any other second parts of the set. Or i tcould be a bug.

that avaar lord guy has a weird loot table, i got ser-something or other's sword off of him, had 2 of them in my inventory, it's the sword you get on the docks in blackmarsh

i got sentinel armor from the first... and then iron chests before last baronness fight i got the boots... no gloves & helm so far

I got the whole Sentinel set by first killing all the desire demons around the altars in the Fade part. When I got back to the "real" Blackmarch there were chests to be looted where before the veil walls with the demons had been.

There's one complete set of Sentinel armor if all the Fade Tear appliances and desire demons are destroyed.
As noted above, the Avvar Lord has a strange loot table that seems to include Venture plus one other quest-related "unique" item. I've gotten both Ser Alvard's sword (even though I hadn't yet set foot in Blackmarsh) and a second set of Sentinel boots.
The head smuggler also has random "unique" drops -- I got Rose's Thorn from him about half the time so far, and that's enough better than his other possible loot that IMHO it's worth reloading a save just before the fight if it's *not* in his loot. Verified that his loot is dynamically generated at time of death, as a save right at the "toy box" is far enough back to get different loot from him.
