Because my Warden's story is over, and has been ever since I read the epilogue card at the end of DA:O. This is primarily why I haven't bought Awakening yet, and when I do I think I'll play as an Orlesian Warden.

Oddly enough the epilogue card says the Warden's story ISN'T over.. (unless you did Ultimate Sacrifice ofcourse).

Well, technically it says that, but for all intents and purposes the 'heroic' part of my Wardens' stories is over. My first character went off by himself to look for Morrigan, so his story isn't over, but it's certainly more solitary and not suited to further scrutiny in-game. It works better left to the imagination.
My second character is the Queen of Ferelden and has settled in Denerim with Alistair. There's absolutely no reason to continue her story, as her story is ruling and attempting to have kids with her husband.

I could imagine that somehow the architect erupted a war between the people of Ferelden and Orlais or something along those lines....... And after finding out the truth you fight together to possibly end his scheming?

I don't think the sequel will have a Grey Warden as the protagonist. I think there might be a Grey Warden party member, though. I also hope Morrigan's child is a potential party member (maybe the 'locked' one), and the plot revolves around spirits and the Fade. That'd be awesome.

Or perhaps have the player be Morrigan's child.  Make the look at all, though I fear it would pidgeon hole them into being a human.  Hm.

It's a nice idea, but I doubt Bioware would want to force the player to be human, and having such a set protagonist would preclude them from creating a new selection of Origin stories for DA2 as well.

My ultimate sacrifice character (so far) was a mage...so who's saying she didn't go to the Fade and find a way out somehow? It could be posession or perhaps taking the body back from a posessed person who was previously occupied by a demon. Or...maybe a mage fetus was taken over by a demon and she liberated the fetus before it was born! Okay, the ideas are getting rediculous but there could be ways. I wouldn't mind if DA 2 was centered around the same character, and I can't say I would mind it if it was centered around the concept of a completely new one.

how abou you play as a warden in orlais during the blight and mabye there is turmoil there which is the reason it takes so long for the orlesian wardens to respond.

Playing as Morrigan's child would get rid of Origins, and being able to choose your race. So no to that either.

Dragon Age 2 not Dragon Age: Origins 2. Be prepared to kiss the origins goodbye. "The Warden" is easily supplanted by a brand new Orlesian Warden in Awakenings. The Warden is not exactly the kind of character you can build a series on if he is replacable, unlike, say, Shepard in ME, or the Bhaalspawn in BG.

And considering the HATCHET JOB done on the continuity from DAO to DAA, I don't think that it will be attempted for DA2... maybe another expansion, sure, but not DA2.

I would go by what Arl Foreshadow's book says... it seems like sequel material. The kid with the soul of a dragon and the demons that haunt him/her, the fate of Arlathan and the Elves, and some good old fashioned political intrigue in Orlais.

I don't want to play Morrigan's child; I want to kill Morrigan's child. Difficult choices if you're Alistair's Queen. This would be difficult with male warden being daddy as well. If the decision is made to really move the story into the next hundred years or so with a new PC on the horizon, at least give everyone a good length expansion to bring their favorite Origin story to an end. This way you have conclusion and can start fresh with a new PC for the next generation. Be kinda nice if it was Alistair and His Queen's child as next generation warden. Or whatever your origin story was, your next-of-kin or bloodline kinda thing.

An example:  Fergus survived from DAO or you (the warden) it could be one of Fergus kids to continue human noble.  You have a statue at Highever in your honor and your niece or nephew carries on the new family tradition of being a grey warden to move into the next generation of lore.

I think it'd be a hoot if Alistair and his Queen have twins.  One for the throne the other for the warden's!!!!!

I think it will focus on a war between Orlais and Nevarra. It says they are the two most powerful nations, and they have fought wars before. I think it could be neat, also have the possibility have having 2 nations to explore instead of just one.

BioWare has said that they have 2 years worth of DLC for DA:O in the works. I think that it's pretty safe to assume that there will be atleast 1 more expansion in that time. My guess, and hope, is that we'll get to finish up the wardens story within that (those?) expansion(s), so that when DA 2 drops, we can play something completely different.

Morrigan's god child could just as easily be used with an Origin-story system, all it takes is the child getting adopted/recruited at an early age and a Revan-esque identity reveal somewhere down the road.

I just hope they don't canonize the Dark Ritual ending in DA2: for both me and my main Warden it is too out of character.

Play as Morrigans' child or a plot around that idea

I hope the next game takes place across many countries, and perhaps you could have each of the main quests taking place in a different country. That would be great and create the possibility to give us all kinds of neat new origins.

Tevinter elven slave, Sheron qunari Tal'Vashoth, Navarra dragon hunter, Orlesian chevalier, etc, etc. There's so much potential given how rich the lore of Thedas is.

Been thinking about a sequel and have come up with the following.

expansion pack 2: new protagonist fights darkspawn and saves a small baby from the evil
witch Morrigan. there is a mage companion called Orion.

Dragon Age 2: the child has been brought up in the small library town of bandlekeep.
he has a best friend there called Emoen, but has to leave on an adventure to dalburs Tage
in order to stop his evil half darkspawn half brother koveras

Dragon age 3: would be set somewhere in the south and the protagenist has been abducted by a mage called David Warner. he eventually kills him and faces Morrigan in the Black City throne of Bhaal room...

whatdo you think

other than that:

Dragon Age: the Calling
The Warden hears the final calling all wardens dread and decennds into the deep roads.
the darkspawn has discovered another archdemon and are moving to release it.
can the warden stop it?

Ha! Imagine becoming a Darkspawn! Although Darkspawn so not talk although they could create a bunch of Darkspawn which do talk, however perhaps those grunts of theirs are them talking and instead of hearing grunts we here them speaking in English when we play as one. Perhaps for a later age.....

i would love to see the warden from the trailor making an appearance in the sequel...or if u r allowed to import ur character from origins, maybe go on a side quest to seek Morrigan & ur Babe(if u had romanced her)...and more dragons please...& some Griffons as well, after all, they werer the mounts of the grey wardens of all,and it won't much to ask for a voice for ur main character for a change...

I don't care who the protagonist is, as long as I get to explore more of Thedas. A Bioware-esque story built around that world is good enough for me.

i truely care about the story as well as gameplay,if they could link the first game with the sequel(meaning the origins)and allow u to continue ur story throughout the world of dragon age,and give u a proper conclusion instead of (more tales)i think i would love that so much...

If it helps, both of those particular epilogues are taken into account in Awakening. In the case of the former, it's just that Awakening happens first, in the case of the latter, Awakening is an interruption.

The character I played through Awakening with finished Dragon Age:Origins as Anora's Prince-Consort and got to moan about being dragged away from her side at court more than once, and went straight back there in his Awakening epilogue. Nothing in the DA:O epilogue was contradicted at all, it's just that stuff happened between the lines.

Of course, his tale "still isn't complete". Though I suspect it will be finished up in further expansions, as opposed to the sequel.
