Since playing DAO I've had minor artifact problems with specific areas. I have been playing for 10 hours so far on and off, but have experienced odd artifacts during this time. I even had game crash on 2 occassions.

Computer specs:
Quad Core 2.4
Nividia 9800 GTX+
4.5 gb ram

all drivers updates.

Anyone else experience similiar problems?:crying:

nope, no issues with artifacting here...that usually isnt a good sign. it may be your card is going bad (most likely, actually.)

No... if you don't know the answer to a problem, posting your baseless opinion doesn't help anyone. There seems to be a problem with the latest drivers when using certain 8xxx and 9xxxx series NVIDIA cards (do a search... there is at least one thread here discussing this). I have a 9800 GTX and I rolled back to 180.84 (which is what I had been using prior to upgrading my drivers to 191.07 for this game) and it now takes many, many hours of gameplay before I see what you're describing, if I see it at all. www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx

may be it could be that there is dust on the grafic card and it becomes too warm try cleaning it (maybee with a can of compressed (i think the word is in english) air.

had that problem (hot card) with an olf 1900xtx card cleaned it and the degrees went down by atleast 30C degrees

well, glad you were here to set me right, oh wise one. because, i wouldn't know anything about 2 9xxx series cards that burnt out (and was artifacting, from overheating) and nvidia had to replace with a gtx 250 (which works fine...no overheating). wasn't saying that was it for sure...just throwing an idea out there, was no need for you to be an ****.

This is actual a very common problem with Dragon Age and has nothing to do with a card going bad or overheating, unless of course your card is bad or overheating. This is the only game where this issue haunts me on a consistent basis and never to my core temps reach above 65C during play sessions which is well below the max for a 280 GTX. The hardest hit areas have been the Kokari Wilds, the Berscilian Forest and the docks to the Mage Tower however the problem persists all around in outdoor areas. It's a problem with the Nvidia drivers from what I can tell, I'm going to roll back to 180.84 and see if it improves or not.

Some people are having problems and others are not. Upgrading to 195.xx beta drivers seems to have solved the problem for me. Rolling back to earlier 18x.xx drivers solved it for other people. It's trial and error...

8800GTX glitching sometimes here, using latest nvidia drivers. Seems that when the glitching begins, it usually doesn't take long for me to CTD.

Just recently, I have been unable to go to Denerim, either by opening a saved file or having my party go there directly. When the file starts loading, I receive a message that my application isn't working and Windows closes the game. Had worked fine for many months of play, but now not even a new start group can get into Denerim. Not much of a game without the main city. Can open after the attack with the city burning or in spots inside the city but not the city itself. Any suggestions?

One suggestion: do not use a message thread with no bearing on your own problem, and do fill in a standard report, instead of not offering much data at all.  This description is in the Mass effect Forum, but Victor is no longer collecting information, and his version of a "Read First" is 10 months worth of redundant now!

We really can't help you without complete information, as Gorath said.  Please do the following:
1) Create a new post on the forum
2) Include all your hardware information (including processor, RAM, etc).  You can find this information on the launcher menu/ configure / system
3) Include what version of the Nvidia display driver you're running
4) Include what version of the game you have (original or Ultimate Edition)
5) Include what medium you've installed from (disc, EA Digital Download, Steam, etc).

Best,

RI
