What would you rate the expansion?

i would give it a 6/10. Steep price, a bit short, good story, but buggy and felt a bit too rushed.

4/10

Negative:

Too expensive, too short and too buggy as well as having major continuity issues from Origins choices.

Also, the ending sucked.

I enjoyed most of it for what I thought it was. A detour in the land of DA. But I also felt it was missing something.

7-7.5 out of 10.  I knew going into it that it wouldn't be nearly as good as the original and that a lot of my favourite characters and features wouldn't be there, so with my expectations lowered, I actually found it more fun than I thought it would be to return to Ferelden and do the whole darkspawn killing thing...

I think 7 is fair - but as modern day expansions go (eg. not BG) it is bloody good really. It just could have been so much more. So much promise and hype - i think most people were a tiny bit disappointed. Especially the end - WAY TO ABRUPT

6/10 and going easy on it. Way too many bugs, and the ending was so abrupt it's not even funny.

7/10, if you never read the calling, like me, some of the plot is just garbled trash. The difficulty is abit of a joke, itemisation is rediculous and the amount of bugs is.... well its the buggiest game iv played in a long time. I also had afew personal dislikes with some of the characters being too forced, or trying too hard. That said, it is a fun enough playthrough to bring its score back up.

Im guessing this is the new EA policy tho, release games which arnt ready, to cash in on initial revenue, and then slowly patch them up at a later date.

6/10. Major points taken away for the new dialog system and for lack of consistency with DAO. Points given for the story -- it's a good story. Maybe a bit too much story for an expansion.

6.5/10

The game opens some very interesting storyline possibilities but doesn't really explore them in much depth. The game ends when it feels like the story just starts to take off.

The new companions aren't nearly as well developed as in Origins, and the old character cameos felt lacking and impersonal.

Also, the combat left something to be desired. Power scaling gets really crazy in DAA and the encounters are trivialized from the beginning.

I'd give it... maybe a 7.85/10, or an 8/10 if I felt like being nice.

Pros:

-More Dragon Age. Always good.

-Fun Characters

-Interesting Storyline

-Amaranthine was a fun little place to play in

-Pretty nice for an expansion

-New items were cool (although I'm still not entirely sure what makes "volcanic aurum" so much better than "dragonbone")

Cons:

-Dialogue system could have been tweaked; although, I understand, Bioware lately has a tendency to try out new things in their expansions. Maybe a sort of hybrid system (although this would require a full game's budget to really realize) that has more in-camp dialogue, but in order to REALLY get to know the character (and get his/her personal quest), one must take them with you and examine all of the random trees and lyrium buckets and stuff. Or maybe it's just one of those things that some will always like, and some won't

-Buggy: Others can go more into that; I only had a few game-changers (and no game-breakers), but those worked themselves out when all was said and done

-Storyline/lore issues: Why was Oghren dreaming about demon-Felsi, when just a few minutes ago he whined about being caught in the Fade (which, oddly enough, never came up in the Circle Tower) and how "dwarves sleep like the Stone" and NEVER dream?; The Architect could have been fleshed out a LOT better. Even a simple Q&A session with him ("What will you do if I do this; is there a compromise we can reach?; If a baby falls out of a tree, will you catch it, or will you wait for its head to crack open before twirling your mustache and cackling?") would have been nice, just to see what was going on in his head this time around

Did I like it? Yes, very much so, in fact. I got it as a present, though, so didn't have to spend my own money on it. I'd recommend to those who have not bought it yet to either wait for them to patch it, or the price to drop 5-10 dollars.

If you're into the character interaction and the story development of DAO, then don't expect to be impressed by this expansion.

7/10 - Not as good as the first game, but alright if you want a little more of the same.

-1 for bugs. -1 for price ($40 isn't ridiculous or anything, but based on a totally subjective opinion, $30-$35 would have been much easier for me to accept), and -1 for my own personal tastes: I think the story and choices could have been a little tighter and I feel like I was just getting to know my companions when the game ended.

Final score: 7/10. A good expansion.

7/10 for the game itself (and that's overlooking all the bugs)

1/10 for the value

7.5/10, which is okay but pretty low for a Bioware game.

Knowing that I won't get a full gaming experience because of some major bugs, really killed the mood for me, so I haven't finished it yet. And I won't until it gets fixed. The original game should keep me entertained for a while anyways...

It was enjoyable so far, but could have used 2 or 3 more months, 6/10

6/10 liked the story, liked oghren, game felt rushed and difficulty made the game feel tedious especially doing a 2nd playthrough which lowered its replayability and removed an addiction factor.

What? Awakening is a way better expansion than Tales of the Sword Coast.

9/10 - Great story. The pacing is a bit better, probably because it's shorter. Choices got a massive upgrade in the shades of gray department. Great new companions (I love Anders and Sigrun!). Lots of sweet new spells, talents and specializations. Rune crafting + being able to enchant your armor is great. Hooray for Heartwoord bow, Vigilance and Sentinel Armor!

I give it hands down a 10/10 as I did Origins. Sure it has a lot of flaws and points I'd like to see improved/fixed with an addon/DLC Content, such as mentioned in my post .

Should probably add, that I'm a huge Dragon Age fan, and reason for giving it a 10/10, despite the flaws I myself find. It has great story play, great fights, easily drawn into it (played through it in 2 or 3 sit down, breaks in between being relative short).

Quite aware that a lot of people are immensly disappointed due to the price, bugs, lack of certain aspects. I, well, I'm just enjoying it, playing it in different ways, choosing different paths/using different companions, whilst waiting and hoping for some DLC Content.

Props to the BioWare team behind Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening.

It is allot of fun but it could have added an extra dimension to DAO. The DAO DLC made the game bigger. This one somehow managed to add more whilst making everything feel more compressed.
