 During the Fade sequence?  Off in the distance, the black city seemed much closer to us than in Origins.  don't know if this was intentional.  Equidistant my ass!

But all points in the Fade are equidistant from the Black City. How could that be?

I did notice that as well, and then eagerly began switching my camera around to see the various details of the city that had been harder to notice during our other times in the Fade. *is a nerd*


And the codex actually does say that all points in the Fade are equidistant from the Black City. I'd imagine the changing visual distance is more of an optical illusion than anything else.

That's ok, I never noticed either. I was always too focused on the task ahead lol.

I totally noticed it. Not sure what it would mean though. However, they make such a big deal about the Black City in the lore, I hope we find out more of it. It also seems to be the only thing from Chantry lore that is actually verifiable. We can actually see it, and it seems to be a very important place, even if we don't know if it's at all like it's portrayed in myth. The fact that it appears in Awakening in such a weird way is...intriguing.

In the regular game there are lots of floating islands with city-like structures on them. How do you know which one is the city?

It's the floating city that looked the same in nearly any other fade sequence in Origins.  It's horizontally long and has a few tall structures near the center of it

I Love the fade sequences in Origins and awakening.

I hope it gets a big role when it all comes down to it.



The whole, mythological part of how the fade is tied in to the world as a whole and the story with the darkspawn, the maker and the black city.

I hope we get to go to the black city when the end of the darkspawn beckons

I know this is the worst idea ever (OH LOOK DARKSPAWN), but I really desperately want to go to the Black City. Please, I swear I won't bring any sin with me! I just want to poke around a little! I won't touch anything or talk to anybody or breathe on any wildlife. I'll keep my hands in my pockets the whole time. Honest!

Somehow I doubt there is wildlife in the Black City.

But I agree. I want to go to there too. But I don't promise to keep my hands in my pockets, and not to touch things. That whole curiousity problem causes me trouble all the time.

I hear you! I seriously doubt I'd be able to keep that promise so... I guess I lied. I want to touch everything in there.
