Underrated: The Producers (2005) it so wonderfully camp.

Underrated - Dark City (Roger Ebert did rate this movie highly, but it failed to achieve mainstream popularity.)

Overrated - Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Yes, I enjoyed this movie. No, I didn't think it was the best of the original trilogy. Call me a heretic if you want, but I liked Return of the Jedi more. Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for redemption and happy endings.)

Overrated: Dances With Wolves...I found this movie to be an utter snooze fest.



Underrated: Interview with the Vampire...I couldn't help but feel for Louis as he struggled with his humanity. Also, Mr. Cruise was quite enjoyable as Lestat, and I tend to DESPISE Cruise...

overrated: Napoleon Dynamite. seriously, everyone was saying how great and hilarious it was. I admit, I've seen much, much worse, but never anything with reviews anywhere near as glowing



underrated: Dagon. considering how few Lovecraft movies there are and how few of them are even watchable, I consider this almost-unheard-of movie to be something of a gem. plus it doesn't hurt that it's based on one of my all time favourite stories Shadow Over Innsmouth

And I only didn't put Dark City in underrated because it does have something of a cult status and generally good critical reviews.

I was hesitant about putting it there because yes, it has good critical reviews. I had no idea there was a cult following though. Still, I'm not changing my answer. If I do, I'll have to... think... and stuff... and my brain starts to shut down past 7PM.

Apparently, being wildly regarded as a classic movie makes you underrated while being wildly regarded as a horrible film based on poorly written books makes you overrated. Who knew?

overrated: Avatar, With it's special effects being its only redeeming quality, the movie will be completely irrelevant in the decades to come.

underrated: Dead Alive, Peter Jackson's zombie film
