I don't see how it factors in. Female players will be voting for the female options regardless, and those female players are the primary focus anyway.enormousmoonboots wrote...
...I can't say I didn't expect it, but I did kind of hope there wouldn't be such a zerg rush. I wonder if I might get more balanced results if I excluded the 'Male, Tali' option...

I feel like a minority.
I'm a female and both of my ManSheps so far have romanced Tali. It's like...she's got the rule of Garrus going for her to me.
You know the one: Start a new game to explore other romance options, romanceGarrusTali anyway.
Haha, this. Tali FTW.

Idk, I tried romancing Miranda, Tali and Jack in ME2, but couldn't, just couldn't. Liara is so awesome and I hope to see her in ME3 as a squadmate

Miranda and Kelly are not really "love" interests. More like one nighters.
Jack told me to f- off one too many times.
Tali is the only on that comes across as a stable LI.

however, i would be interested in seeing how much this changes when ME3 rolls out. because....
Garrus - is he going to be "friends with benefits" or is that going to last?
Ash/Kaiden - are currently pissed at you/extreemley troubled and trying to decide what to do about you.
Liara - has gone crazy/obsessed about the shadow broker.
at any rate, you're taking a break with your ME1 love and they DON'T help you (pissed me off), they are leaving you hanging, and if you WERE true to them (and had a nice little staring-at-the-picture session before going off to battle, which was a nice touch), you still don't know how a reunion will go with them - if indeed, you get one
Thane - might not even live
heck, anyone might die
and the rest of them might just be a one-night stand
sooo.... i think it's hard to call a shot right now. i bet votes would go up again for the ME1 crowd if there's a really dang good reunion scene in ME3. and vote would go up and stay up for ME2 people if there is a good continuation of the romance in ME3.

I also put together a version with the 'Male,Tali' votes omitted to get a better look at the percentages that get dwarfed because of it:

So Jack is most popular among women playing Manshep? That one's interesting...
Also, for anyone still casting your votes, just tell me your favorite romance. There are a whole bunch of comments to the effect of "y is my favorite, but I voted x because she's a better character outside of her romance" and "I voted x because she was the best-written, but I actually like y more". Don't make it complicated! Just vote for your favorite.

I wasn't a bog fan of Ashley or Liara in ME1. In fact, poor Ash was constantly Virmired.
Good polls, boots. And I do love a good graph.

I felt there was plenty of depth to Tali's romance. I'm not sure seeing how viewing Tali as a little sister (she's 24 and an adult) has to do with depth, but it's all opinion. Of course I'm biased, but wouldn't you be too if someone said Thane is a deeper romance than Garrus'?janeym27 wrote...
Jack is probably the 'deepest' romance going (if you go paragon) for MaleShep.

Oh, the two weren't meant to be realated. Tali's romance was also very deep, but Jack has that whole 'I hate the universe' thing to break past before she will trust you, and I found that more interesting (yes, me who was put off Thane due to his baggage. lol) . Bad phrasing on my part. Deep was probably the wrong word. It's the one you probably have to work hardest at (if the game equated to real world terms).
The Tali as little sister thing was a side note. My little brother is currently 22 and an adult, but he's still my wee bro. Tali is my FemSheps BFF, and MaleSheps (my main ones, anyway) closest female friend, but the relationship (while very complex and close) never sits as well with me when it becomes sexual. But like you said, it's all down to personal preference. Freedom of character interpration FTW!

It's the whole pilgrimage thing from ME1. She was basically like a teenager or young adult going out for the first time to see the universe then and it gave her a bit of a younger sibling like vibe for some people since alot of us see Shepard as a more experienced kind of person compared to Tali in ME1. She's more grown up in ME2 but it's still there for those of us who see her as a sibling.Collider wrote...

Really? Between the two, I could only say that Liara's romance had some creepiness to it. You know, the whole wanting to study and research you from the start, and coming on to you fairly quickly, etc...but I don't actually think Liara's romance is creepy at all, but I don't think Tali's is either, at all.Splinter Cell 108 wrote...
Well this was expected. I chose Liara though, I find Tali's romance too creepy.

Jack's romance is more emotionally complex and it could be said that it is deeper in that area. Tali's may seem deeper to some b/c Shepard has known her longer. It depends how you define 'deeper'.
As I said, I don't think 'deeper' was the word I should have used.
And, it also depends on how you are playing and interprating the game. (although, I've yet to hear a convincing argument for the complexity of romancing Jacob.

That's because no one romanced Jacob...except for three people maybe who don't post much.

I did a playthrough where I romanced him on a femshepard. Didn't really care for it and felt it was much too shallow in my opinion. Not to mention some of Jacob's dialogue fits better as a bff or bromance thing and with a female shepard it makes it seem more sleazy or comes off as insulting to females.jlb524 wrote...

True. You could grate cheese on those abs! (but, probably shouldn't)
I had a theory that he was, in fact, not remotly confident with women, and has massive insecurity isues caused by childhood trauma which he can't talk about, and acts like a sleazy cheeseball during the romance as a way of over-compensating for that. In ME3, a mission will delve deep into his psyche and show us how complex a person he really is, and will in fact have the greatest emotional payoff from all the LIs...
Then I talked to him again.
