I realize that, of course. There are no truly accurate numbers except the ones Bioware got from the game itself. They're not sharing those numbers, however, so I'm trying to get an approximation here. The more votes I get, the closer I get to being accurate.Urazz wrote...
Truth be told I don't see this poll being accurate for the entire playerbase which is in the millions. This poll is just out of a single forum that only has a few hundred votes to it. It's accurate to show who is a more popular LI on this forum at least (or those that cared enough to vote in this topic/poll).

due to the domination of talimancers in this forum's user census, the data on the most popular isn't really much of a suprise anyway.enormousmoonboots wrote...

Trust me, its not exclusivly in this forum that you find talimancers.

never said it was, just dominated, which attracts talimancers to sustain such a community. The Tali threads have more posts than many character support threads combined.Landline wrote...

The people here are hardcore users, people who traditionally care more are more likely to vote seeing as this is a open poll and the sample size isn't large enough.
Its fun enough in and of itself out of the user base we DO have but all the polls here are useless for determining anything towards the base as a whole.

Really? Between the two, I could only say that Liara's romance had some creepiness to it. You know, the whole wanting to study and research you from the start, and coming on to you fairly quickly, etc...but I don't actually think Liara's romance is creepy at all, but I don't think Tali's is either, at all.Splinter Cell 108 wrote...
Well this was expected. I chose Liara though, I find Tali's romance too creepy.
I don't think Tali's was creepy because of her but because of Male Shepard's voice during the romance. Besides I'd prefer a romance with someone who's face can be seen plus I really like biotics so yeah.

Anyway.

Complete poll (right-click 'view image' if you can't read the numbers, or copy the URL into a new window).

'Male, Tali' removed, to get a better look at ratios and female interest.
Jack was beating Tali in female support, but it looks like they're about equal now. I'm surprised that Liara and Ashley have about equal interest among women.

It's interesting that Garrus and Tali are faves in both polls. Is it because of them spanning 2 games, that people feel they have a deeper relationship with them than the others?

Jacob = Miranda (not really emotionally involving, rather fanservice-driven)
Tali = Garrus (cute romance that grows out of friendship, dorkiness, cross-species difficulties)
Jack = Thane (tragic romance with a dying person, final scene includes tears)
I think Tali and Garrus both appeal to the 'nerd' demographic--they're badasses on the outside, kind of awkward emotionally, but they're not quite as 'heavy' as Thane and Jack (who are both really emotionally involving, they're both characters who really need you if you romance them, Tali and Garrus are a little less dependent). Basically, they need you, but not too much--no pressure. The fact that they're ME1 vets helps, too.

I can buy that Thane is a deeper character, what with his inevitible death and all, but it just doesn't wash for Jack with me. Personally I find her to be like most girls you'd meet out at a bar with a more extreme story. “I'm all hard on the outside but get my guard down and I have a soft chewy center". I find her character dynamic to be trite and boring. Space her I say.

Out of all the females available, Miranda is too....well....."easy" if you know what I mean (I'm trying to be civil here, folks). Plus, even being a Paragon and seeing that she's a person (as it's put in the game), she just seems like someone that doesn't like talking to others that aren't part of the chain of command.
Liara in ME 1 was waaay too....naive and in ME 2, she becomes way too dark for my tastes (however, understandably so).
Jack was just to psycho, but if you go Paragon with her (which is what I am by default), it turns out to be rather nice. But, you need to go through all that crap just to see the "real" her.
Ash isn't too bad...and would be a second to Tali, if I was forced to choose one. But she's a racist (unless you're a Paragon and convince her she's wrong). Tali is who I wanted in ME 1 and her personality is sweet and very friendly. I happen to gravitate towards people that are like that, so my vote goes to Tali.
Kelly....ugh....I couldn't get past Kelly's personailty. She just made me think some teenage girl was writing her dialog half the time. I was waiting for an "OMG" line from her with every other word that came out of her mouth. Seriously.....Kelly was pointless as an "option"

Hey....that's totally cool man! I can respect that opinion. I'm NOT one of the rabid Tali fans, just because I happen to be a Talimancer (trust me...the rabid ones give those of us that can discuss such things calmly and rationally a bad name). I honestly don't recall her saying that...it might have been when she was discussing about who you left on Virmire possibly (I haven't played in a while; on my next run, I'll look for it).
I do agree that line is a bit...stalkerish....but I feel that every LI has at least ONE thing about them that gives you pause (The Priiiiize....lol
