EDIT: Whoops, just looked that episode up. I think I've seen it.

In your defense, I did modify the quote. And I'm hardly the most perceptive person about picking up references either - although speaking of, your handle: MBV/Loveless, right?

The funny thing about "chickenhawk" is that its more prominent usage, at least here in the States, refers to politicians/commentators (generally on the right) who probably would be pretty uncomfortable with the meaning Lilith mentioned.

Yes! Spot on with the reference. I've seen them live and it was absolutely amazing. I was born during the period between Isn't Anything and Loveless (1989, surprisingly), so I didn't see them the first time around. I caught them on their reunion tour about two years ago (I saw them on the first night at Manchester Apollo), and the "audio holocaust" section of You Made Me Realise is just insane. I went through the whole concert without earplugs and my ears rang for a few days after! If you like them and you get a chance to see them, do so.

Awesome, and very cool that you caught them live. I've never seen them to my great disappointment and shame - hopefully I'll get a chance.

I've also seen Neil Halstead (ex-lead singer of Slowdive, current member of Mojave 3) live, and he's really good. But I have to say I'm really losing my interest in 'gazing at the moment, although that's the same for everything currently :D

But yeah, if you get a chance, grab it. You won't regret it.

That's also awesome. Weirdly I've never listened to Mojave 3 despite my fondness for Slowdive. For some reason I never get tired of shoegaze, as my stack of pedals and records demonstrate. It's the one guitar-based genre I always seem to be in the mood for.

My tastes come and go like the tides, but for some reason I have a soft spot for folk metal. Mojave 3 are a lot folkier/poppier than Slowdive, however, so I wouldn't go in expecting a wall of sound.

Alright, so I sent a message to my Geometry teacher saying not to call my parents. I wrote it like this.

"Its me, Ryan, don't call my parents about my progress report not getting signed, because than I'll have to study more and not be able to play Mass Effect 1 and/or Mass Effect 2, now what would you rather have me do, save the Citidel from Sovereign and Defend the colonies from the Collectors, or study Geometry."

He has a sense of humor, hopefully he'll understand, anyone else in any situations kinda like this?

You can do both; just have a decent arrangement of your schedule.

You do know that just means he'll chuckle and call your parents, right?
