How many stupid Final Fantasy threads have I seen pop up ? Seriously, it seems the game is really love'em or hate'em sort of games.

It's that competitive mindset I've been commenting on a lot lately.

The "us vs. them" mentallity, where everything has to be broken down to sides and one side must be absolutely wrong and horrible for the other side to be right.

Some Bioware fans feel the need to show how much they love their games by bashing the "competition."
Then JRPG fans bash Bioware games in return as a means of defending the JRPGs.

If you're a Republican, all Democrats must be evil.
If you're a Vikings fan you must hate the Packers.
If you're Christian the atheists must be stopped!
If you like Baldur's Gate 2 then Final Fantasy is crap!
If you think Jedi are awesome then Vulcans must suck!

It's very tired and destructive.

Bioware released ME2 less than 3 years, while FFXIII was 4 years in development and unable to generate towns. Imagine how long SE will take to develop ME 1 & 2. My point is for SE to duplicate what Bioware did with ME1 & 2, it will be difficult for SE, but you assume SE wouldn't have that difficulty so tthere's explains it all.

I'm just popping in here to say that this is pretty inaccurate. FFXIII took so long because Squeenix decided on switching the then-current engine with the White Engine for the sake of better graphics. It's the only significant reason why the game took so much time in development.

This gets my seal of approval. I don't get why WRPGs fans in general decide the best way of declaring WRPGs superior is by denouncing JRPGs. They aren't mutally exclusive and people just don't understand that it's possible to like both at the same time. It's ridiclous.

I play and enjoy both WRPGs and JRPGs and I laugh in the face of anyone that feels the need to 'take sides.' It's only your loss. It's as juvenile as the 'console wars.'

Oh yes, I forgot. The world revolves around you and anything you say must be 'fact'.

You could use another word for that that perfectly defines what you're trying to say. It's called an opinion.

You just contradicted yourself. In your previous post you said "im just giving what I think is fact". Now you're saying it's your opinion. A fact is something that is known to be true, and can be proven. What you "think" is not a fact, it's an opinion.

This.

People are entirely entitled to their opinions on games and other entertainment media, but when they go around declaring what is clearly their opinion as fact - or, as UBER GEEKZILLA here did, directly misuse the word fact, it just causes misunderstandings and often arguments.

Words have meanings, its how we communicate, and misusing words means miscommunication means misunderstanding.  And that leads to arguing.

If Square Enix made Mass Effect 2, the entire game would be far prettier.

There is no such thing as shame. The women will go out in underwear that people call clothing just to entertain insecure teenage boys.

Wait... don't Jack, Miranda, and Samara go in this direction already?

After Sheperd and company defeat the Reapers, they will discover a greater evil force was using them as pawns in a scheme to destroy the universe as we all know it! The few surviving Reapers will join Shepard's side, with the leader of those survivors becoming a squad mate.

Then this goes on and on until EA decides they have too many discs (about the five thousand I believe)

Actually when EA brought over Xenogears after Square at that time refused to do so, EA was able to release Xenogears in two discs and to be honest with you the game was large enough to where it could have been there discs but then again the didn't have CGI whoring in it.

There will be one girl out there that HAS to be smarter and stronger than you or most of everybody else just so the developers will prove that their not sexist.

Since Final Fantasy VIII it seems like the main character is obviously evolving to become more femine and the Female Lead then becomes more important. From Final Fantasy VIII and beyond this is always the case and you're just support.

Bioware always does have plenty of clitches in their titles and every title the same thing happens.

The tutorial battle has a suprise attack and you're then placed into an area where you're there for six or more hours until you can leave and then go to Four Locations until the master threat is shown and then from then on you're on the rails and can't really go back but yeah the chart shown is pretty accurate.
