The idea is to only take magic to the requirement you need for spells and armor (i dont know how much strength or in this case magic is needed for the BEST endgame items, if you know please tell me - without spoilers),  then focus everything you can on willpower, constitution and dexterity in a 3:2:1 ratio.

Arcane Warrior Spells
Combat Magic

  • Fatigue: 50<--  lol
While this mode is active, the arcane warrior
trade increased fatigue for an attack bonus and the ability to use
spellpower to determine combat damage.

Aura of Might

The arcane warrior’s prowess with Combat Magic grows, granting
additional bonuses to attack, defense, and damage while in that mode.

Shimmering Shield

  • Upkeep: 40
  • Fatigue: 5
The arcane warrior is surrounded by a shimmering shield of energy
that blocks most damage and grants large bonuses to armor and all
resistances. When active, however, the Shimmering Shield consumes mana
rapidly.

Fade Shroud

The arcane warrior now only partly exists in the physical realm
while Combat Magic is active. Spanning the gap between the real world
and the Fade grants a bonus to mana regeneration and a chance to avoid
attacks.

Blood Mage Spells
Blood Magic

For as long as this mode is active, the blood mage sacrifices health
to power spells instead of expending mana, but effects that heal the
blood mage are much less effective than normal.

Rock armor (Increased armor) 40 upkeep
Flame weapon (Flame damage on attacks) 50
Miasma (Debuff aura, slow + minus to attack/defense) 60
Arcane shield ( Defense bonus) 30 upkeep
Telekinetic weapons (Weapons gain armor penetration) 50
Death magic (Dead enemies restore your hp) 45 upkeep
Haste (Increased speed) 60 upkeep

50% fatigue from upkeep,50% fatigue from combat magic. Making your spells DOUBLE as expensive. But... you will be using you health to cast spells dont scream yet.

375 upkeep cost+ (not sure if i got it exact)
23 spells total.
100+gear in fatigue (ouch)

You will be a walking fortress, using all your mana on buffs. And the few spells you DO cast take HP not mana - so avoiding the fatigue penalty (unless im mistaken, i heared blood magic dont suffer from fatigue if thats wrong im owned) Your health regen and healing suffers. Thats why you use death magic to heal yourself from enemies you kill. You can also use some "+healing received" items to offset the penalty.

The spells you use are Heal, regenerate and improved life drain (vulnerability hex + drain life) and heroic offense, defense and aura. The idea is to use the heroic offense, defense and aura spells with mana before going into battle. Then activate blood and combat magic and use your life to cast heals in combat. The regenerate spell is very powerfull as ive seen and even using health to cast it should make it very effective.

Im not through the game yet first time (playing a normal mage now) but i want to try this for my 2. walkthrough.
Any criticism, suggestions or ideas to improve my build are welcome.

When ive completed the game this way i will write a guide/review on it.

i actually thought about doing this also.
the only problem i  have personaly is it is pretty boring. your basicly buffed out the wazzo and just auto attacking. the blood mage penalty on healing is pretty severe if i rem right. think my death magic went from something like 14 health a pulse to 1.

With how much magic? In that case its probarly better to use the mana restore aura instead and ditch blood completely?

with that many auras going you wont be able to cast off mana so blood is pretty much the only way. i dont have arcane warrior yet but i'm going after it today sometime just for the spellpower=str, but i have some spare points and will check it out. im sure others have done it and could chime in with actual experince. im simply going off theory.

You can click off blood magic and heal up with potions, so it's not a total failure or anything.

Highest magic depends on what items you want. If you want the absolute best plate armor I believe those require 42 str, so that would be 42 magic. It might be 43. I think 30 something is more reasonable. With that many buffs you'll be more or less immune to normal enemies anyway, and I'm not sure you can buff armor high enough even with all that to make it meaningful against big enemies like dragons, since I think they get armor penetration.
