The plot of Final Fantasy IV involved space travel. In the last quarter of the game you visit Luna. It's big part of the plot, in fact. The party has to get a special airship to reach it and everything. Oh Big Whale, how I miss ye.

Well, if anything, at least there's hope.

Let's just hope this means anything. Them actually asking the fans themselves sounds like a pretty big deal to me.

[Edit] Fixed link.

The fans?   They would buy FFXV if it was a bunch of people farting in a tin can.

Bahaha, yes this is likely. It's just, the question on whether or not they should remake FFVII was limited to the Japanese fanbase only at the time. I think my link's broken, btw - that's what was in it.

I know it's fun to bash FF on these boards but I'm actually looking
forward to FFXIV and FF versus XIII.From what I know and the few
gameplay tidbits about them they look promising [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie].

FFIV is different.  It's a MMORPG.  FFXI was very different than most FF games.

^ I know I like mmos,it seems like it could be alot of fun though.Seeing as they have FF in their titles I figured most on these boards would still dislike them. They still seem like they have potential to be good games nonetheless.Versus even has Airships and a world map, most likely some towns too.Could be a great rpg even it's not as similar to past games.

ffxi was fun but it was a major time sink.  Still fun though.  I just hope ffiv gets rid of gold sellers!

There is no redemption for FF. It is a JRPG after all, let it die once and for all.

Probably the last good core FF game which at the same time practically defined the series from that point onward with the formulas established in it. A villain that actually conquers the world? Hell yeah.

Nah, the last good Final Fantasy was VIII.  Totally different magic system plus a plot that jumps between 2 time periods make it the last one in the series with any innovation.  Oh, Ultimacia in her future world conquers it as well.

What, you mean besides returning back to the pinnacle of the franchise (read: FFVI)? The last good FF was FFVIII. I often wish they'd return to their roots, but no, we've got Cloud Strife in drag and people with names like 'Vanilla' and 'Snow'.

And while they are hating, I'll keep enjoying the great series.

Of course not. It's a JRPG, so obviously it sucks compared to WRPGs even though both JRPGs and WRPGs are entirely different in everything but the concept of leveling, inventory and 'RPG'. They should all just die because every JRPG ever has the same effeminate protagonist and some other statement because I know about every JRPG to ever exist so I am a great, unbiased authority rather than someone hating an entire genre because the 'big boys' of it tend to follow the same tropes.
