Actually casting anyone from Hollywouldn't is a bad idea. There's lot's of hungry, excellent actors out there that would die for a good script and could use the money.

You, my friend, are mistaken. Gerard Butler is one of the best actors of this decade. Have you seen Rock n Rolla, 300, Law Abiding Citizen, The Gamer, Beowolf, and a lot of other movies I could name? Like I said, one of the best.

300? Shallow and dumb fun. Law Abiding Citizen? Terribly written and incredibly shallow. Could of been so much more than a pseudo-intellectual thriller that thinks it's smarter than it actually is were it written by better screenwriter than Kurt Wimmer, a better director than F. Gary Gray and better actors than Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx. Beowulf and Gamer? What? What? I suppose you'll tell me The Bounty Hunter isn't eye-bleedingly terrible too.
The fact you'd put Gerard Butler up there with Sharlto Copley, Robert Downey Jr, Clive Owen,  Heath Ledger, Christopher Waltz, George Clooney and so many more great actors and go insofar to call him one of the best actors of the decade is... unsettling. But I digress.

Again I'll agree and say I would love to hear Gerard Butler in the Mass Effect universe (Enjoyed his VA in How to Train Your Dragon. I'd also like to offer a more practical suggestion for a voice to hear in ME3.
