I was surprised and disappointed when I learned that the reason why my imported character from DAO to Awakening had missing items right from the start, I thought it was a bug, until I learned that my items happened to be DLC items that were just never made compatible for Awakening, thus their disappearance upon the game start. I had somewhat built my character around those items over time, I really got used to their properties, so of course I had to find new stuff over again (one ring, the amulet, and a second dagger, for my Rogue Warrior).

But I just don't understand, why couldn't BioWare make those items compatible? Was it because they didn't have enough time to do that? What's the reason? I'm just curious, and I'd like to know.

Well, Duncan's sword and the Helm of Honnleth (sp?) came through fine, as did my rings, but you really don't need to bring loot. The expansion just throws powerful items and money at you
