The mission is over, why doesn't the crew know that?

I continued the game after finishing the mission. ( I had one minor assignment to finish, something about a fish) However, when  I go talk to some of the crew they don't seem to realize the mission is over.

Poor Thane keeps saying he can't wait until its over and Jacob still thinks its going on as well.

The others just keep telling me their doubts on my keeping the Reaper Base...

Seems they just refuse to end the mission. Perhaps the game is really over when you have finished everything and continuing the game really doesn't.

...I'm sure you can guess as well as me that the game was released before minor loose ends like that were tied.

Actually I didn't know that. IF that's true why not patch it?

Otherwise its a little weird. Like being in a time warp.

Yea lol I hate it especially since you can't further relationships and such. Would be nice to be able to take tali on dates and such. And why the hell is the yeoman the only one that gets to strippa dance?

Sadface here.

Same reason they're not patching other minor issues...

...

I've no idea.

Pfft, I'd rather they patch out the disturbingly common occurence of being stuck floating in the sky. Or the rarer but horrifying save game corruption that has the character load but not the level around it, thus having Shepard fall into an endless abyss.

But yes it is a little strange that Garrus is apparently having trouble preparing for the suicide mission that we already did.

Recruiting squadmates for suicide mission that had already happened is even more ridiculous. BioWare really screwed up post suicide mission play.

Yeah, you could talk to everyone for one dialog afterwards and that's it.

Unless they're talking about preparations for ME3, but I don;t think so.

at the risk of being insulting, the reason for this, and all of the other 'errors' we gamers find, is quite simple ; Game developers are goal oriented to put out a game that is playable. consistent and logical AND they have to get it done on both a deadline and a budget.

We Gamers however are oriented towards exploring every little facet, every nook and cranny, seeking the mystical hidden Easter eggs or just seeking to tear down what has been built in any way we can.

Every game has its 'flaws' - HALO - in the planned to be epic battle across 5the bridge and U the pyramid to the control room - fight halfway across the bridge, jump down onto the spar that supports the control room and you can run up it with no fight.

DIABLO - the Item drop duplication goof.

I could go on and on - EVERY game has flaws - even if we all owned CRAY Supercomputers that had the capacity to account for every single nuance, these games are designed by people and flaws are inevitable - finding them and posting about them is fun once you have solved the 'goal' of the game seeking the flaws is the next step.

Bear in mind however that even with all of the flaws we are all still here participating, so it can't suck that badly.

Incidentally - regarding the aforementioned Kelly dance - the Patch they have released makes that MUCH harder to generate - just like with ME1 - the 'taboo' of sex has raised controversy - no one protests when we can 'make his head explode' but let even the barest hint of sexuality creep in and the mob comes with pitchforks and torches.

Post suicide missions aren't supposed to make much sense.
See, your ME2 save is meant to be imported to ME3, and with being possibly hurried along by the plot, you could easily miss stuff.

So the post suicide play is meant to be a bit of metagaming, to get stuff you missed in preparation for importing your save.
Although, I usually have 1 or 2 loyalty missions not done till after suicide mission.
Just 'cos I like Miranda's "hell or highwater" line.

Certain members of the crew should leave after the mission is over anyway.

Samara, Thane, Mordin and Zaeed at the very least only joined for that mission. Afterwards they have no reason to stick around.

I just think that Bioware didn't put too much effort into a part of the game that would be a bonus more than anything else.

that's AI problem. shortly after suicidal mission, when you go to each squadmate, some of them still talk about last mission. Miranda (Cerberus ****?) still talk collector crap. Mordin, Tali, Samara are all the same. Jacob, Kelly, Legion, Grunt, Garus only talk post mission. I think that Bioware should fix AI problem. I have found few problems with it.

I have a feeling it's more to do with all the DLC which is the reason why the Post Suicide world is like the way it is. As time goes by more DLC will be released but as some have said the main game is more or less over so no real point for characters to stay together and such (and ME1 stopped after the end mission).

Post Suicide feels more like an opportunity to allow the player to tie up lose quests and optional content rather than to actually continue the story. More or less allows you to fine tune choices and actions for ME3 rather than continue actual plot threads of ME2 since technically ME2 is over after the Suicide Mission.

I asked the same question here before. but I found it out why. it depends on how many times you have conversation with mates before going to last mission.

so I tried conversation with squadmates when I came back to Normandy no matter what I finished mission or just went to shopping in Ilium or citadel, omega. then I found out something. after ten more conversation, they don't have more options to talk with you. same thing is on and on in the end.

so what I suggest that you should try what I did.

This is a simple lack of dialog to account for Post game action.

My suggestion?

What makes this especially weird is that a lot of them do actually comment on your decision to keep or destroy the Collector base the first time you go talk to them, then they revert back to their pre-Suicide mission dialogue.

On the other hand, at least this way you can still cycle through the rest of their dialogue if you've missed anything, but I agree, I would've preferred one or two more new lines. If they wrote and recorded the comments about the Collector base, it seems strange that this wasn't done. It wouldn't have needed to be a ton of new dialogue, just one "wow, I'm glad that's all over, sucks about the people who died" comment would have been enough. Not a huge deal, but it's weird.

Ye this kinda sucks. On my first playtrhough i stayed loyal to errr... whats her face.. Liara? I was thinking id atleast get some action after me saving the galaxy and all, but she had the EXACT same dialogue as before

Was already dissapointed at the whole Liara deal... They really didnt expand on the relationship you had, or on her in general. Just one of many rush jobs i figure
