The randomly exploding ferrets and monsters. Also, Oghren's opening when you see him. He grins, waves, and goes back to slaughtering darkspawn. It's hilarious.

Someone needs to post the lava Steafan kick on youtube. Seriously. I didn't play through on a character that would actually do that. I want to see it something awful now.

Seemed like the right thing to do. The guy was tainted and if you let him go he could spread it in Amaranthine. Also, THIS IS SPARTA!!!

Not epic but something I greatly appreciated was the scene where you first meet Anders. His animation of shaking his fingers turning to look at you and putting his hands on and off his hips in an awkward way was pretty cool for me to see. I always thought that BioWare needed to work on their animation and that was certainly a step in the right direction.

I have to agree with the burning of Amaranthine. When I saw the disciple general and armored orge got one-shotted by a ballista bolt, I was like, why the hell did I go through all that to kill them instead of bringing in a good'ol ballista?

True.

That was a terrible scene. Why would it not have been handled like a regular execution. Not performed on the spot right there. I thought that was pretty silly.  Makes it hard for me not to save Loghain.  Especially since the character I did it with is a dwarf. "Can you bend down Logain? Please? I really just want to get your neck, I'd rather not spray your brains over the landsmeet."  Just silly.

More or less depends I guess. On my playthroughs I harden Alistair and have him duel Loghain. He immediately executes him afterwards without any intervention from Riordan.

In some ways, it can show that Alistair wont be taking crap from anyone. And sometimes maybe that back-stabbing narrow minded biatch deserves it?

The best part is that she turns away like 3 minutes later all "So anyway about the crown.."

Nah I am going to keep saving him, I like his character too much.  His cameo in Awakenings is great. Alistair is a child and gets on my nerves. He actually throws a temper tantrum and won't fight in the final battle if Loghain lives. Way to have some priorities there, why did I make you King?

I second that! I played it in french and would LOVE to hear Loghain's original words in Da Best Cameo Ever :)

edit: I put it on YT but in french...because I am, sorry. Plus the quality is not good but well, better than nothing..

It's not epic, necessarily, but I really like the camera work/body language when you talk to Olaf in the Wending Woods. The PC is much more expressive in general in Awakening (see also the skeptical face during the conversation with the First in Blackmarsh).

I also find Velanna's silent, furious glare when Anders calls her a looker and then starts speculating about her sister to be pretty epic.

I noticed the body-language in Awakening. Its a step-up from origins, where one of the problems was that your PC generally meandered between bored and disinterested.

Dramatic highlights for me (spoilers, obviously) were burning Amaranthine to the ground, and probably the entire Siege of Vigil's Keep (I saved Amaranthine first, and was shocked at how much more dramatic/developed the Vigil's Keep siege was by comparison). I also liked the Architect watching you pit-fight two dragons.

The Mother face-stab would probabyl be there if I hadn't got the infinite stab-loop and had to have seen it 20,0000 times.

And that self-conscious glance at the pile of bodies behind him.  The whole cut-scene is perfect.

Um, if you save Aramanthine, Vigil's keep is destroyed.  I had every upgrade to the keep (got the achivement), and still the keep turned up destroyed.

...Oh gods. I love you.

That is definitely one epic moment.

Is it bad that I find it funny that Justice objects to you killing a thief, when he wants you do do that to everyone else who has done something he views as unjust?(Like Velanna.)

Keenan(or something like that): There is a Darkspawn in here who carries a massive maul, he crushed my legs, please kill him and take my wedding ring to my wife in Amaranthine.

-Kill the Darkspawn get the ring, go to Amaranthine-

Keenan's Wife: Oh your the Warden Commander.. you must be here about Keenan then, is he dead?

You: Probably, here have a ring

I have to agree, burning Amaranthine was a hard thing to do. Especially with your Warden walking, and looking back with a face of sorrow but knows nothing can be done now.

I totally didnt see the mother-face stab coming. I thought she would just roll over and die, but it was epic.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooosshhhhh.

They saved Amaranthine on a first playthrough then let it burn on a second playthrough. So, yes, you're right about Vigil's Keep. Just clearing up the confusion. Image IPB

The most epic moment for me definitely has to be the very beginning cutscene where I run up to Vigil's Keep in my Warden Commander armor, Helm of Honnoleth and Duncan's Sword. Kicking Darkspawn butt was my business, and business was going to be booming from then on.

This. Along with all the other cutscenes that made my character look lively. Another example would be when you return from the fade and you see your PC slowly wake up with rain falling on his/her face.

Awakening made a step forward in this regard. It makes you feel your not playing a sensless puppet anymore(yes, it was that bad in DAO).

Yes, the rain falling on the face was a good one. The animations were greatly improved in Awakening. Felt more interactive. I especially liked seeing Nathaniel hug his sister -- it added a lot to their reunion.
