Judging by Garrus's banter there is definite dimorphism in the species.

For once, I fully support BioWare going lazy on this issue. That is, disclosing in ME3, that we've already encountered female Turians on multiple occasions and just couldn't tell the difference because there is no significant dimorphism.

Because only this approach can be consitent with the Mass Effect lore, which has already suffered greatly in ME2.

If you read into the Codex about the Turians, you's understand that there is little to no social discrimination between the genders in the Turian society. Therefore the females are supposed to hold pretty much the same social roles, positions in life, jobs... And Shepard was just bound to run into some of female Turian C-Sec officers, mercs, bystnaders...

Salarian females we never see because they all dwell on the Salarian core worlds and have just two occupations: reproduction and political leadership. That's where definite gender dimorphism is to be found.

Krogan females are not that different from males by appearence, as suggested by the shape of the dead Krogan female we encounter on Mordin's loyalty mission, by their social role, defined by the genophage, prohibits them from leaving their camps. But it is not so strict as with the Salarians, so there may be exceptions. But if we encounter a krogan female in ME3, there must be a damn good plot reason for that.

On another note, I support a female Turian spectre as squadmate in Mass Effect 3!

Li the tech guy you meet on Noveria was female originally, but the devs dropped the whole female Turains looking alike. They also said they didn't.
Also the Salarian females do stay on their home world. But I do find it funny that the Salarian counselor is not female. They do hold all the positions of power among their people. So why would the most powerful Salarian be a male?! That made no sense whatsoever.

If fem turians have boobs, I'd be ok with it.

If they don't, I'd still be ok with it.

I just want to SEE WTF THEY LOOK LIKE.

If Garrus old flame (the turian girl with flexibility you know) returned as a squadmate I would love it!

It pains me to say this... But as much as I love boobs it would just look silly on a turian. They can still be very beautifull and feminine. I mean look at how handsome the male turians are.

A creature with an exoskeleton wouldn't have breasts. Larvae don't feed on milk. Look at the animal kingdom, male and female differences exceed beyond what we see for people. Krogan are turtles, Turians are insects, Salarians are lizardlike....Quarians I don't know they're basically weird lookin peep's with funky legs and hands so whatever. Drell seem to have bodies that are close to a mammal's. The 3 other races I mentioned are all races that probably wouldn't have breasts because that's now how the females of that species differentiate themselves from the males. If you try to be creative you can come up with something that takes a natural coarse within that species.

Also of note, in breast feeding species the males also have nipples, that naked turian has no nipples. He doesn't even really have much exterior skin. A more supportive waist would help in carrying eggs if that's what they still do at this stage in their evolution. Depending on which gender is the "attractive one" would determine length and variation of fringe. I picture women having a less aggressive fringe since the males appear to have "attractive member" traits. Maybe a more rounded "mouth flap" thing. More brought in. The upper torso honestly would probably be identical between genders since that is never the defining feature of female insects. I wouldn't be surprised if the female turians were larger though. Krogan probably won't have much difference, same for salarian, maybe size difference and a different model on the "head features" but that really seems like "it" besides voices.

Thanks for using science for good there, Doc. The whole ‘turian breasts’ thing comes up sooo often, and makes no sense, and makes me sad. Image IPBLol

Although I’m not sure how insect like turians are, compared to their being more avian/reptile like. They have gizzards, for one (Lilihierax mentions it, and there was a mention on one of the Cerberus Daily News things recently, I think). Still, the egg laying thing makes a lot of sense.  It was what I've always assumed. I hope we actually get to know a bit more about turian anatomy in ME3.

So Garrus called Shepard FAT?!  THROW HIM OUT OF THE ROOM.

That was my take on it too: that he was floundering for something to say that didn’t sound offensive, but couldn’t. It made me go d’awww. Even if females do have thicker waists than males, it wouldn’t necessarily be a compliment to say so. For example, women generally have wider hips than guys, but you tell that to a girl and you’ll get your butt kicked. “Child-baring hips” = not a compliment. In any case, even if females are thicker waisted, I doubt they are as thick waisted as humans. Turians are very wasp like in that department.

I love that bit of female turian art. I would be very happy with that in gameImage IPB

My take on it was that they were a reptilian/avian mix. So they wouldnt have breasts to feed their young. Mostlikely they would do like birds and some reptiles on earth do, eat first then regurgitate the chewed and desolved salution up for their young to consuime from their throats (or more "civilized" way probably into a recepticle of some kind). Now the question of visual form, females would have the same general structure that males do. The pic is cool, but should the shoulders be broader to suggest an ancestry of wings maybe?

I really hope Bioware listens to this request like they graciously did with Garrus and Tali being romanceble.

I'm pretty sure they can spare to make at least one new female turian model, there's no need for hundreds of them, and they would have to have a really good excuse like saying that female turians are extremely rare because of biology, except that particular excuse would be contradicted by everything in the Codex.

After all, Garrus had the reach and the FemTur had the flexibility.

Okay I have watched this to perhaps get to see someone draw Garrus flexible ex GF. Now I'll just ask it: Do anyone knows if anyone have drawn Garrus ex? If so I would apreciate if you show it to us.

You know what else would be good?

If we did get a female turian squad member, she shouldn't fall for MaleShep, instead, she should be a lesbian.

Lesbian FemShep's don't have anyone (I'm not counting Liara, seeing as though all asari are female and it's redundant) and it'd be great to have a lesbian only squad member, seeing as though every female is either straight or bi. It's not fair, I tells ya.

But yeah, a female turian would be great.

Well Garrus had more "reach" than the female turian he was fighting, so im pretty sure males will be bigger.

At least lesbians/fanboys get an option in Liara and Kelly. What about male gay gamers?

I'm a female but I'm still waiting for an m/m option!

(Edit) Oh, and to stay relevant to the topic - turians with boobs? No, please. Just...no.
