Heck Liara was only able to rescue him because the SHADOWBROKER recovered Shepard's body.

Incorrect. Liara located Shepard and had the body recovered by Mercs "before" the Shadow Broker found it. She knew that the SB was looking for it and planned to sell Shepards body to The Collectors. What isn't so clear at this point is the connection between Cerberus and Liara, or how the offer was made to bring Shepard back to life. All we do know is that Liara did what she did because she is deeply in love with Shepard, and as quoted, couldn't let her go.

Now, she has a much bigger role behind the scenes battling the SB, who is really the only threat to Shepard and her success at saving the galaxy.  Once you get through with her errands, and peel away the walls she has put up, she becomes very tender when she explains what really happened.  The only fail here is that BW just ended it there, possibly for a DLC, but thats where the fail and disconnect is cemented. That scene was cut short, way too short.

My 2 credits worth...

My memory is a bit fuzzy on the first issue. Fair enough.

I also want to say I sympathized with Liara in the second game. I don't HATE her. She's not my favorite or anything but I have nothing against her being part of the game.

Personally I found it odd that the Alliance didn't go gather up at the least the technolgy that may

have been left from the wreckage for such an advanced ship, that alone made my eyebrow raise.

Look how upset that Admiral Mikhailovich was to see Aliens on such an advanced ship or how

Ashely reacts to having aliens aboard.

Everyone but Liara wanted the "Reaper spouting Shepard" gone it seems.

I know it's a video game, but some of it made no sense to me.

Just to reiterate:

If the Alliance had found the wreckage
why didn't someone then collect the dog tags? pretty stupid to leave
them
for 2 years then ask a dead Shepard to "Oh hey, find the
Normandy wreckage and grab them dog tags we were to
lazy/stupid to
get".

For the same reason the Alliance sent
nobody to save Feros from an all out attack from the Geth in ME1,
because its a video game.

Actually, shortly after Shepard gets underway in the new SR2, she gets a message from the alliance saying they found the SSV Normandy wreckage. They "just" found it in scans of the system.

And honestly, after being cut to peices in orbit, then falling to the planets frozen surface, there would not be anything left of the Normandy worth salvaging.
Indeed, walking around the wreckage, there is nothing worth salvaging.  It was only fitting that the site be deemed a memorial for the 20 lost crew, and the one person it would mean the most to, be the one to place the memorial marker.  There was nothing here that "didn't" make sense. If one pays attention to the story thats there, it's all pretty clear.

Now I want me 2 credits back! Posted Image

You are all argueing a bit too much about this. The alliance rescue and the ship wreckage all fall within the normal limits of suspension of disbelief for a game.

I will argue all day that they did not need to reset Shep with a death and could have found a better way to introduce their precious Cerberus into the game, as well as the treatment of the ME2 squadmates but complaining about the rescue and accusing the alliance of abandoning Shep is just nitpicking.

True, Sharn01...I would have been much happier if the whole ME2 story was something else. I personally don't like the "Four Billion Credit Man/Robo-Specter" they gave us. I'd have been happy with things picking up from ME1 and the Council turning their back on Shepard, and thus, Shepard turns to Cerberus...having to make a deal with the devil, is much more troubling then having that choice made for you.

Except the Mako, which is apparently made of Nintendium and survived the crash completely unscathed :wizard:
