I guess i'll nag about this everywhere possible:

In the interest of keeping the game a fresh experience, i wanted to wait
at least until the hammerhead DLC arrived for a replay. When Arc
Projector came, i installed it however and went into an older save file
to check it out, everything worked.
Yesterday, because hammerhead has
been announced, i started up ME2 just to mess around, maybe start a new
game, but suddenly it just won't connect to cerberus network.

it
says: communication with mass effect 2 server was interrupted or has
timed out.
clicking okay prompts a message stating my previously
PERFECTLY functioning DLC can't be authorized and that i should log in
to Cerb. Network.
i am constantly logged in here and on ea.

WTF!!
can anyone help me for the love of GOD? i usually can keep my cool if i
can find at least two pages on google to scour through, but there seems
to be no information on this.

I haven't changed anything on the
pc, aside from reinstalling c&c3 and after checking around,
apparently this isn't going on for anyone else.

so..help me..

I just started having that issue as well but the only thing it won't let me use is the ARC projector. I was going to redownload it today and see if that fixes it.

Is the Firewalker out yet? Because I can't seem to log in to Cerberus Network to see it 0.o

I am redownloading (steam) it now, and i won't install arc gun. if works , i'll tell you.

by the way, the new DLC will come in 3 hours maybe 2 hrs, and i do not want be fxxked up by this problem

what's great is that now the hammerhead is out and can be downloaded from the site. but i knew this would happen, see now i can't play ****. i'm still completely locked out.

starting a new game doesn't work. loading a saved game doesn't work.



i'm usually a pirate but bioware games are on my list of exceptions because i just know prior to release that they will deliver a fantastic game. but i mean.. this sure as hell makes me doubt that "list" of mine. there's probably a way to crack this, but i shouldn't have to ffs!

that doesn't matter, i have a D2D version from gametap, the dlc-folder is in the directory either way. but i don't think the dlc is the issue here, though.

Maybe the servers are overloaded?

Maybe too many folks are trying to authenticate the new DLCs at once?



I just hope I'll be able to play again before tomorrow. =/

I've just installed the Firewalker-Pack and can't login to Cerberus anymore too, which is just great. Did work yesterday, stopped working today after installing the new DLC.

I haven't been able to connect for a couple of days now, I think it might have been around the same time that I installed the Arc DLC but I doubt that's the problem. I installed the Alternative clothes DLC and I cannot authenticate it... awesome.

dose bioware notice this problem? is there any Bioware staff in this forum?
By the way, anyone can note that your platform PC or 360.

same problem here - just downloaded the hammerhead and AltAppearance1 DLC. No connection to the cerberus network possible and the AltAppearance1 DLC can't be authorized.



I hope this has nothing to do with the C&C 4 connection problems and BioWare/EA will fix it asap

Oops I found the problem and I've been experimenting with weird cmd commands.



I can't directly say what the problem is.. but check your hosts file in the windows folder...

cleaned the lines in the hosts... connection to cerberus is now successful

would you care to clarify? cleaned the files?

there where some old lines with 127.0.0.1 ... so I've deleted them except the Microsoft example lines (#) saved the new hosts and launched the game
I can't tell from which program the lines were... maybe I'll find out soon when I try to start some old stuff
