Dalish Keeper. (Apprentice or such)
Antivan Crow. (Not sure what rank system they use, lets say apprentice too)
Chevalier. (Ditto)
Dragon Cultist. (Could be interesting growing up in a dragon cult environment. Quite original at the least)
Chantry. (Pretty much the opposite of the dragon cultist environment.)

We can't really conject until we know at least the basic plot and setting of DA2.

I doubt there are gonna be any fleshed out Origins.. It isn't gonna be called Dragon Age: Origins 2 but more likely Dragon Age 2: RandomTitle. Besides if they added origins again it would really kill the whole point of calling the first game origins if they aren't the actual origin of the story.

Dragon age: Origins was called that presumably because it was the first dragon age game and because of the Origins.
And what story are you talking about here? The only sequel hook is Morrigan's baby, and even then not everyone did the dark ritual.

No it isn't. Without knowing what the sequel entails there's plenty of potential hooks. Maybe the origins it refers to is something arising from the ashes of the Grey Wardens. Maybe it's Morrigan's child. Maybe the entire saga will actually turn out to focus on Barkspawn in some kind of bizarre fantasy meets Lassie way. Who knows.

Oh yeah, I forgot the Qunari invasion. Aside from that and Morrigan's child, what sequel hooks are there?

Nope not at all, but having choices never hurts :-)

Although the origins were a great feature.
I am not sure they would work the same way in DA2. It would have taken a lot of time to create the six full origins as well as any ones cut early in development. If there is a shorter development time for DA2, they may have to focus on other areas of the game.
In DA:O they may have spent a lot of time creating the origins and the huge mid game locations but consequently lacked time for the endgame and parts of the story.

Something else to consider is that for DA:O they would have had to spend an enormous amount of time dreaming up all the lore, the different factions, different countries and cultures in the game world etc. Sure for a sequel they will probably want to keep adding new stuff to the mix (for all we know, this "new" stuff could have already been written into the lore during DA:O's development and we just havent been introduced to it yet).
But the point is there's a hell of a lot of groundwork already laid down for them now, I imagine that would play a major factor in the sequel having a reduced development time frame.

I agree already having the engine, mechanics and lore would help speed up development.
I was just thinking that it must have taken a lot of effort and time to create six high quality compelling openings to the game.
I would not begrudge them not having the time to reproduce that. If they feel they need to focus on improving other parts of the game.

How about none, as others have pointed out the first game was called Dragon Age: Origins.
I for one would rather carry on with my characters kthx.

Yeah but if the game was set quite a few years after, as in...historically, a few thousand years then that wouldn't be possible.

Our wardens have 30 years left so... after they and Alistair and whoever go on about with their Calling, creating a new character after those years wouldn't be so bad.

Lol, funny you should mention that, just now when I saw someone else had replied to the thread after my post then i saw the porttrait at the side and had a moment of confusion before I realised yours was facing the opposite way
Anyway I'll take that as my queue to swap avatar pics, just about to finnish another run through with the char I'm taking into awakenings anyway....this guy ended up sacrificing himself so I had to start over as I couldn't justify having a dead warden suddenly raising from the dead and theres no way I'm playing an Orlesian....
Anyway, back on topic, someone above mentioned an origin for an apostate mage which got me thinking about blood mages and I wondered if blood mages in Tervinter were Illegal as they are seemingly everywhere else, I know the Tervinter Imperium isnt as powerful now as they once were but I can't remember if they were in fact brought to heel and their mages forced under the rule of the chantry or not.
Either way I'm thinking an origin as a Tervinter Blood mage with aspirations of seeing the old Imperium return to its former glory would be interesting or any Tervinter based origin for that matter.

Spotty: A few thousand years by conventional technology estimates and the people of Thedas will be in space.
