No. MMOs suck. Their stories suck, the never ending grinding of mobs suck, and idiots always asking you for help sucks too.

Some of my best memories are on PW worlds and meeting people across the world and making friends. I play the PW for real people to play with, not for the story behind it and that what the OC is for, right?

No. Don't ruin one of the only good single player rpgs around. We're already not going to get any more real KotOR.

I always find myself wishing I could get spammed in game and talk to a bunch of ****ing retards pretending to be girls... then I remember I can just come to the forums for that, yanno??

So please keep the eugenics experiment known as "MMORPGS" the **** out of my Dragon Age, thank you.

No one said the game itself, im saying an MMORPG (free to play) with the ENGINE.

Dragon Age is a single player game no point in making it an MMO wouldnt mind having multiplayer options on instances but thats about it.

the graphics and engine is quiet nice though and i wouldnt mind seeing an MMO made out of it.

The problem is it's screaming MMO what with all the lore and all the lands of Thedas (Ferelden, Orlais, etc) and even foreign lands like Par Vollen

I hope it remains a single player game with single player mechanics but with that MMO size, imagine a game the size of DAO multiplied by all those other countries, as SINGLE player RPG!

Yes

For people who don't know or understand this how
modern game work:

The game engine that hands the rule of the
game like hit die, mana / health / the fly path of arrows, etc It the power
plant of car and car is like mods

Mods have the game data in them like layout of
levels, monsters, models, armor graphics, etc

One engine can run many different mods.

When a player makes a mod via the toolset, that
mod is a stand alone game of itself and it does not mess up the OC witch is a
different mod.

Right now, Bioware of 4 major mods

The OC (tech talk, it is made of many many
different mods but are linked as one huge one)

DLC (witch are in fact a sub-mod of the OC)

One other Major mod call DAO:A

What we are asking that the game engine can
have server / client option

In other words: we just want Bioware make a
"hook" for us make our own mods that we play with other people on,
not to change the OC in any way. Dragon Age is a single and should always be a
single player game, BUT that does not mean that we can have a muti-player, too
-- Not Dragon Age in and of itself , but as a game engine and own mods
that we can make and play with other people We are NOT change the OC in any
sharp or form just more functions to the game engine itself

I hopes this helps to understand what we are asking.

I hate to be the bearer of common ****ing sense, but the money you would have to spend to wrap this engine around an MMO would be better spent sending Kevin Federline to Harvard Law. You could probably build a new engine for cheaper. Seriously. DA has it's shining spots, the engine isn't really one of them. It was outmoded and outdated before it was even released. We're talking about an engine that can't handle WATER or BOWSTRINGS.

Please. Think.

Ok, I am willing to listen. Make your case about what DAO engine can not handle the network (yes, a lot it depends on the hardware, but that is a different topic. We talking about software here)

You are talking about grapics witch is a different part of the engine then networking.  All the server does is to send the other computer that my char is here on such and such area of a certain level of given mod and I cast a fire spell or shooting my bow.  The other computer takes the XYZ and what the char is doing and it applies the graphics overlay.  Why not an older engine can't send that type of data? NWN1 can and it is much much older engine then DAO is... We are not  sending graphics info (that is the other computer job), but are send YXZ info to a server

I'm really not in a state today to explain this to you without an avalanche of insults (more my fault than yours) but let me just say this.

It can barely run a stable single player game as is.

So you talking hardware not software then? Not to put you down any thing ( I do respect) but some people other rigs can that just fine. Remember, a server can have a lower system specs then the game itself since it does not have to run the graphics just handles the XYZ info and a different computer can run the game game and talks with the server. It is more in the software then hardware.

Take your time and come when you are ready to talk about it. Have a great day, sir

As soon as I started playing DAO it felt like I was playing a game heavily influenced by MMORPGs. The controls, combat mechanics, UI and side-quests wouldn't be out of place in any of the recent MMOs.

I actually think it could be quite successful as a multiplayer game, although I wouldn't subscribe to it.

I don't know if you are know how Bioware does their online gaming? If they following their NWN 1 or NWN 2 model -- it is free. The player who make the mods run their own servers (the player pay for the bandwidth) therefore one never have to "subscribe" to anything since it is free.
