If you are so damn desperate to play with your friends, play WoW.
Don't ruin one of the last good (hopefully) franchises by insisting that you need co-op and crap.

Something along the lines of the user based NWN servers would be fine. Then players could police their own servers in ways that WoW never could.
~Snip~
At least in privately owned NWN servers the DM (My Comment: NOT BIOWARE) staff could manipulate the worlds, make the actions of the players significant and orchestrate plots/stories that meant something.

This is what I want. (See Above)
Bioware has already given half what we need -- a toolset. Now we just need a
server client game. The player can make
/ do the rest. WE don’t want a WOW, MMO
or even Bioware made content and It has nothing to do with the lore or story lines of
the OC either.

As to the more general point of this thread, my answer is "please, no". The world has plenty of swords and sorcery MMOGs. I want Bioware to continue spending money on excellent single-player games.
An architectural change is not a trivial change that is true, but can they make a 3rd party app something like tootset is? We don't want a MMO or WoW like game, We just want to make our own and share them with other people and online with them.

As for DA:O, I'd rather them have PW like NWN had. MMO not so much.

Single player doesn't get enough attention these days as it is. If I want to spend my time on something that is massively multiplayer, task oriented, and rewarding I'll work later, thanks.
I want to play a character that has grand adventures across the world or galaxy. I get a couple weeks a year I take to go some place and do something interesting... But that's not enough. Games make up the different. An hour here, an hour there... It's fun and I enjoy it.
When the MMO comes out, it will get top draw from the resource, talent, and time pools. After that, single player will turn to crap.
If there is a MMO announced on Monday afternoon, that's it for single player, imo.

You'd only be controlling one character so you wouldn't need a pause.Balgin Stondraeg wrote...
And the constant pausing required to play. Yeah I could see that being really popular in multiplayer, especialy when some idiot always unpauses straight away while the person who paused actualy did so for a reason.
As far as multi-player goes, I was quite surprised that this game didn't follow the client/server architecture of NWN. Surprised mostly, a little disappointed; I enjoyed some of the NWN worlds I visited.

Also, TOR needs to be a major success before EA consider even funding another MMO.

if y'all are craving multiplayer so, that's where the shooters and MMO's come in.
You not played on a NWN PW world before have you? It is not a MMO or a WoW. It is different then that. Also, It is a know fact (weel, it should be know anyways) that Muti-player / Online worlds that drives player made content and with out them, it far less likely to happen to the same scale as NWN 1 has. One more point, for player content to work that has to be a group of players that make sure that all the different content plays nice with each other -- something that the CEP did for NWN. I guess what I am really asking that Bioware make a NWN style game again with updated graphics, toolset, client/server architecture, and encourage player made content and mods (both single and online worlds versions) I love the Dragon Age OC and single player game it is, but at the same time, I miss the NWN online worlds that the players made. Can I have my cake and eat it too? :innocent:
