Dragon Age is named after the period it takes place in, and each Age spans approximately 400 years. The last Blight took place circa 500 years prior to the game's setting, so we can safely assume that each Blight has a cooldown period of at least a quarter of a millennium.
Now, since the four previous blights took place in their own distinct Age (Steel Age, Blessed Age, etc), will the Sixth Blight (the one after Dragon Age's Blight) take place in the age after the Dragon Age, (say, the Grey Age) and if so, will the game maintain its name (Dragon Age) or alter it to match the current age (Grey Age: Origins)?
Thoughts?

Who says that the Dragon Age sequel will happen when the next Blight does?
For all we know, its plot might be concurrent with Origins' storyline, but in an entirely different area of the world.

i'd really like to see a sequel still in the Dragon Age; be it with or without the blight. i think they have enough lore to make a whole new story without having a blight in progress.
to be on topic: i assume a sequel in a different age would have a name such as Dragon Age: Age of Grey.

Id say its gonna be a mix of Blight angry dwarfs and lots and lots of hidden angry dragons.

Perhaps it could take place in Orlais. I see it more renaissance-themed, which would be very appealing to me.
Or maybe we could be a qunari warrior fighting the Exalted Marches of the Chantry...

I bet Qunari is gonna be one of the origins.

The Deep Roads offer a lot to work with...especially since they supposedly go to many different lands, even under the seas. It would be great if you could play your character again like in MassEffect2.

I don't care where or when they set a sequel, as long as the DLC and an eventually full fledged sequel arrive. MORE MORE MORE!

That would be great...this world is rich and full of potential.

It probably wouldn't happen since there are so many endings, but I'm kind of hoping that the storyline using the main character would continue, maybe as a human noble? It's SO obvious that the real plot was intended for a male human noble. Even though that would limit plot choices for the sequel...
Anyway, I think an alternative could be like what Jack Anvil says (taking place in Orlais), but instead of limiting the gameplay to a certain region, they could expand it to like a few regions, making the gameplay time a hell lot longer, which I'm sure we would all want...
What I really want to know is what happens to Morrigan. Seriously, maybe the sequel should be the main being her God-child. haha.

That's actually my first thought, that the sequel would be focusing on the the God-child, either as a PC or maybe even the main nemesis.

just a note - several of the devs have "suggested" that any sequel having to do with the next blight would be highly unlikely. which is great since there are more potential storylines to follow.

The god-child thing is already used in Baldur's Gate, im sure there's a lot more that can be done, hopefully theyll surprise us

Screw the blight! We have already saved the world from one, now we want to explore it. Let's face it, Ferelden was boring, it feels like Orlais would be much nicer.

I do believe there is a rumor going around that a dev said the sequel will not involve Darkspawn as the main story. They will probably be there, but not the emphasis.

Personally I think they'll continue with story that your main character has/had followed during your run-through. If you chose to continue with that character at least. With all those ending options.. I'm guessing there is a reason for it. They all follow the same basic lines.. just with different paths more or less. I think that the "God-Child" will have something to do with the plot IF you chose to have the child and/or she had it with someone else. I can't honestly see why they would give you all the options they do just to strip them away for the sequel. Baldurs gate for example allowed you to continue your story in each of the sequels if you remember. Why wouldn't they follow the same premise with Dragon Age. Just wouldn't make sense.
Also, some something like "Isn't it obvious about the god-child here's a hint Flemmeth." Even with the lack of grammar I have to agree. Remember (That is if you found it) that Morrigan had Flemmeth's grimmoire and was studying her magic it only makes sense that she would "somewhat" strive for that power. That's how she knew that flemmeth needed to be killed and without her present. My guess is that she would follow in her mothers footsteps (Even if she didn't "love" her.) Most people that are close with their families (as she was had no choice considering she was stranded in the woods with her) do normally follow what they know.
ALTHOUGH - there is the whole part where she said the child would know where it came from and would respect it blah blah blah. So I guess there are a few ways to look at it. It's all speculation at this point.

Yeah, I've done the darkspawn blight thing in DAO.
Another sequel full of it would probably get repetitive so time for something different.

Not to be rude or anything, but your math is off for the time of an age = 100 Years
