On yet another playthrough - on insanity level - at the titling wreck - just for fun deicded to explore game mechanics of a fall into the abyss -  CANNOT BE DONE !

here's what i tried :

1. after getting off shuttle fired missile at nose of the wreck aiming for red light - hoping to make wreck fall - no result.

2. went to middle of loose tile zone and fired missile at tiles - explosion pushed me back to 'safe' zone.

3. on the narrow walkway after loose tiles drop to form path - deliberately ran full tilt at edge - hit force field no fall.

4. did crouch and jump into open space - game refused to let me jump

5. fired missile point blank at my feet - died from missile but it is impossible to die from the wreck - falling.

Anyone have any instance of dying from  a fall ? there is a bottom of the screen blurb that says biotics can push off a ledge - havent had tha happen - on Illium the bridge crossing is supposed to be an excursion into wind sailing without a parachute - couldn't 'find' my way off there either.

so whats the "insert expletive here" point of the titling ship and the wind bridge if you cannot die from either ? :o

I always found that ship wreck to be really boring/stupid/waste of time, since you know nothing is going to happen.

When doing that mission it can only go to slow, so space is permanently down to get that mission over with :P

The reason for the tilting ship level is one of atmosphere, and this isn't a tomb raider game with jumping and ledge grabbing, so more people would be po'd by dying there than by the fact that you can't die.

As for the bridge, you can't fall off it for the same reason, more people would be annoyed by accidentally going near the edge and falling of than those who find it annoying that you can't die. You must remember, this game is an RPG and RPG's always have an enclosed world with very little interaction with the environment in a movement sense.

Finally, the biotics, more specifically pull and throw etc. While yes, it doesn't make sense that enemies can't use them, consider if they could. The instant you get ragdolled by anything and you'd die, pulled, thrown, reave'd, crippling slam'd etc. They would all turn into one hit kill abilities, which would be infuriating for the average player.

Now, perhaps a mode after insanity, called realistic or something, where enemies have access to the full range of abilities, but there be fewer enemies, could be a possibility for those seeking an extra (mental) challenge. Any time dilation that the enemy would get if it were the player could be exchanged for an accuracy and damage boost. I'm not sure how one could deal with a vanguard charge or adepts singularity though.

Meh, random ideas come floating out of my mind and onto screen via keyboard, I apologise for that. But, like I said, atmosphere and "wow" are the point of the high up missions.

Hey, I'm pissed off you can't get a game over from saying "I'll never work with Cerberus!"
