I can understand the power in being able to quickly strip multiple enemies of their defense. But... why use a shotgun to do that instead of the Viper or Vindicator?

I'm a bit surprised at how well the Katana is doing in these tests. Maybe I should give it another look... Could be a nice compromise between Eviscerator and Scimitar.

Because Vanguards are usually in close range where a shotgun is more effective then vindicator or viper.

Your videos rock as always. Science > Speculation. Still looking forward to an ammo skill comparison.

Thanks for this video, very interesting. I usually go with Evi to the point of not remembering what else I got but this makes me want to try Scimitar again.

Cool vids, it's good to see my 2 fav weapons (scim, viper) performing well in them.

Eh I love my Katana too...

Dont like how Evi looks... hated the Claymore... and the Scimitar just felt weak to me.

Probably wrong, as the science proves otherwise... but my Katana kicks major ass with my inferno ammo XD

Thanks for the comments. I'd just like to make it clear the test does not necessarily reflect actual performance in battles, since there are so many other things to factor in. This just shows raw DPS against shields, not how 'good' the weapon is. Perhaps the only scenario in which this test accurately reflects reality, is against heavily shielded opponents.

One example where the test does not necessarily reflect reality:

Take a group of 3 standard foes, with Scimitar all you need is one clip and few melee attacks, with Evi it is shot+melee for each, with Claymore it is 3 shots, but because it is so slow without the reload trick, you would see a ton of difference and you would take more damage since it would take longer to kill them. Evis shoots every 1.25 seconds (I think) and you can easily put 1 melee between shots, Claymore with reload trick fires every 1.5 seconds, that makes the two virtually the same.
