Why? Because the timer appears on only two of EA/BW's pages, the ones for ME and DA:O.
Wrong. Yesterday evening, my time (1 hour ahead of Greenwich), the timer was up on the main site, social network, ME2 and DA:O - 4 pages.
Someone has already stated this earlier but probably this is because these two games are the most recent single-player games and are featured on the main site (Shepard on the right, Warden on the left) as well as on the social network. Time difference still bugs me, though.
Btw: another vote for the New Next Gen Game. Anything else is great, too.

There are a few things that are pretty obvious:
1. It's not an announcement of a brand new IP or a sequel to a single game.
Why? Because the timer appears on only two of EA/BW's pages, the ones for ME and DA:O. If it were either a brand new IP or a sequel, the counter would be on every single page of their site in order to maximize publicity. Additionally, it's waaaay too early in the development cycle to expect a realistic release date for both games, the cryptic card in DA:O Awakening notwithstanding.
Just fyi: it's on bioware.com as well.
Besides, there is little to nothing related to both the ME and DA franchises worth such a countdown timer.
Edit: not even a Mac port... by the way, i believe DA:O is available on Mac.

Also don't think its an anouncement for release on a different platform or a website redesign. Although these are both plausible, they just seem to small to warrant a countdown clock.

SWTOR isn't in the Bioware domain, though... (it's swtor.com, not swtor.bioware.com, as in the case of DA and ME franchises)JMan71 wrote...
Don't think its a new game. For one because its only on ME and DA sites and not on the Old Republic site.

This article on gamespot posits that it is the possible release of DA2 at least, and that they speculate it will be released in early 2011. www.gamespot.com/news/6254085.html

I'm hoping it's another costume pack priced at $20. The sound of Internet whiners' heads exploding simultaneously will be absolutely glorious.
Well, either this or some magnificient Bioware prank on the same scale.
