A while ago I finished ME2 for the first time, and some time later I decided I wanted to play it for the second time, now with the new DLC. So I heard you get some bonuses from your first playthrough when  you start a new one with your original class (mine is Vanguard). So I watched the complete intro, chose the same class, chose an extra ability which was Reave. Then when I start to play, right around the time where you wake up and the security mechs assault the base, I DO get 50k resources and 20k credits, but I don't all my weapons and also not my original level. What's wrong?

Too long; didn't read: how to second playthrough with bonuses.

You get no bonus playing with the same class, you get minerals, credits and 25% more exp from missions due to the Long Service bonus.

Taken from the cheatcc.com website:

Completion bonuses
Successfully complete the game. Then, start a new game with the cleared saved game file to start with the following bonuses: choose Loyalty Bonus Skill at the start; retain Skill Points from first playthrough; retain level and experience points from first playthrough; +25% experience bonus for all characters; 200,000 credits, 50,000 of each resource; Renegade and Paragon points reset to neutral; and your weapons and armor (but no upgrades) from first playthrough.

Then how come it says here I do can retain my full level and weapons?

That is if you import a complete Mass Effect 2 save, I'm assuming you imported a save from ME1.

EDIT: Though I'm pretty sure I didn't keep my weapons or armors when I imported a ME2 save.

Did you make a new character or import the character you already beat ME2 with?

If you made a new character you don't get anything other than the minerals, credits and 25% exp, if you imported your ME2 character to playthrough again, then there is a bug.

Ah great. Then my final question is: "HOW DOES ONE IMPORT A ME2 CHARACTER?" I just thought one would simply create a new character and get the bonus automatically, since I haven't seen this 'Import ME2 character' option at the main screen at all.

Well I'm assuming you completed ME2, which in that case when you create a new game there should be an option to import a Mass Effect 2 save.

Yes, ofcourse I completed the game. I tried creating a new game on multiple occasions, but there are no options to be seen anywhere where I could import a ME2 character. I still got the save game from the first playthrough.

When you say 'import ME2 save' you do mean that I get to start at the beginning, but with all my gear, level, bonus resources and credits, amirite?

I'm sorry if I may sound agitated or w/e, it's just that I also just contacted EA Helpdesk and they couldn't help me.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be appearing, but when you import a ME2 character you start with only your level. Armor, weapons, upgrades, credits and resources are reset, though you still gain any bonus credits/resources you would from a Long Service achievement bonus.

As far as I'm aware you keep your heavy weapons and armour but not the standard weapons.

Also, not everything you should have is available before Freedom's Progress I think. So basically you're not fully kitted out on Lazarus Station.
